Catie's Bubbles Un Jour Gris Artisan Shaving Soap, 4oz

On opening the jar, the scent that I pick up is like a damp clean soap. It reminds me of a luxury handsoap however with a bit more complexity that matches a mood that you have on a grey day . Strenght of the scent is about a 4 I would say. Here’s where it gets interesting because when creating a lather, you’ll be amazed about how easy it is . The lather really impressed me because it was full, rich, thick and really slick that covered my face real nicely. While creating the lather the strength scent increased to a 6 or 7 I would say. Shaving therefore became a real treat! The post shave feeling is wonderful. The scent remains for a few hours however decreases in strength rapidly which is no issue if you want to use a nice aftershave or EdT. All in all Catie’s Bubbles really surprised me and I will most certainly would love to try other scents!

It was supposed to be a dead ringer of Tom Ford Grey vetiver. It sure is not. It is the most fresh and soapy smell ever! Not a bad thing. You will smell for some hours like you have just finished your shower. As far as the performance, it is a classic cb luxury formula. Far better than the super soft old one, but still, not the best out there. At least for a vegan soap it is good.I guess water hardness plays its role. Love the fact that the soap is completely white, unlike some other cb I own.

I was really looking forward to using this soap, but so far I am disappointed. It is very hard and difficult to load my brush. I also get only a very thin lather that gets that squeaky feeling of some soaps. I have regular city water that is not terribly hard and has worked well in lathering other soaps. The scent is interesting and unusual and matches the "grey day" mood, but I just wish it performed better.
