Product Description

Instead of carrying a satchel full of products like moisturizers, astringents, and healing balms, we combine everything into one product: our post-shave salve. The moisturizing properties of the glycerin and lanolin reinforce the all-around goodness of shea butter, avocado oil and coconut oil. After scraping your skin with cold, hard steel, witch hazel and aloe vera sooth irritation and battle redness.

Instructions for use: Take your trigger finger and scoop a dime-sized amount, a little bit goes a long way… then rub it between your palms until it reaches body temperature. Massage it into your freshly shorn, still damp skin. Make sure you take the time to really work it into damp skin for 45 seconds to a minute, which helps with absorption and allows you to enjoy the blooming scent. Depending on the dryness of the skin, the absorption time will vary.

Scent Notes:
The original scent from Chatillon Lux was inspired by Carondelet’s original resident and founder, Clement Delor de Treget. As a French Spaniard who was the highest authority in a lowly trading town, Delor de Treget represents the humble magnificence of Saint Louis.

The rich smell of bergamot and cedarwood is rounded out by the sweet smell of orange and calming lavender. Underneath it all, a brooding undertone of labdanum supports it. This scent is more rugged than masculine, suitable for anyone preparing for a long day collecting pelts, pushing pencils, or anything in between.

Salves obviously are not for me. The scent is a nice herbal kind of smell that I find pleasant but the feel is awful. I had to wash it off. It feels like smearing your face with petroleum jelly. VERY greasy. I don’t know what I was expecting. Every product I have ever heard described as a “salve” was greasy. I can’t give this any kind of review on how it does in healing my skin because I couldn’t stand having a greasy face I had to take if off. Maybe if you used it VERY VERY sparingly it might not be so bad? I don’t know. I barely used a tiny bit on my fingertip.
This stuff just isn’t for me.
