Product Description

Dapper Dragon Shave Soap uses high quality ingredients to create a shaving soap with superior glide and protection. Stearic acid coconut oil create an abundant, creamy lather, tallow adds slickness, while shea butter and glycerin moisturize and pamper the skin.

Each tub contains at least 4oz of soap.

Green Dragon is a complex scent that evokes the image of a forest full of growing things. Cedar and bergamot blend with leather, rosemary and lily of the valley for a heady aroma.

The tub will be approximately 2/3 full, leaving plenty of room to contain your water and lather as you load your brush without a mess.

This stuff literally erupts into a nice slick lather that lasted through three passes. The scent is interesting and definitely lives up to its description of growing plants. I am not sure I love the scent, but since that’s such a personal choice I wouldn’t hold it against any soap. It also strikes me as one of those smells that may just take a little getting used to before I realize I love it.

I’ve used exactly 12 shave soaps (mainly using the various samples bold by this site) since starting using a DE razor a few months ago. I’d yet to find a bad soap UNTIL this one. I just finished my second day in a row with this soap to make sure yesterday wasn’t a fluke. This soap is he opposite of slick, it’s down right sticky.

I would chock sutter’s review up to user error or inexperience. Dapper Dragon soaps in general are top tier performers. If you add a sufficient amount of water this soap creates excessive amounts of creamy, dense, slick lather. The scent of Green Dragon can be somewhat polarizing. I loved the scent at first whiff and it has remained one of my favorites after trying dozens of soaps a year later. If has a green floral note on top of a mild leathery base. A surprisingly complex scent profile overall.

I was really impressed by the quality of this soap. It lathers beautifully, creates a super slick surface for the razor to glide across, and leaves skin insanely smooth after! As far as the soap having any sort of stick, it really shouldn’t be a problem unless not enough water is added to the mix. As a newbie I’d have to say it does take a little playing around with it to figure out the perfect water to soap ratio. But I feel like that can be said about any of the soaps out there and once you do find out how to get the perfect balance it’s so worth it! My only con for this soap would be the fragrance. Again the quality is pretty amazing and I don’t doubt that other scents from this brand smell good, but Green Dragon just really wasn’t for me fragrance-wise. It doesn’t quite smell as described (at least in my opinion), with notes like cedar, rosemary, lily of the valley, bergamont, and leather I expected something a little more earthy/ herbal with maybe a hint of sweetness (from the lily of the valley). Instead it smelled more like tea tree oil (kind of similar to the Paul Mitchell tea tree line) with maybe a hint of the leather when lathered. Not that tea tree oil can’t be considered earthy….it’s just a much crisper and lighter version than I had imagined. Again this is just my opinion though and even though it wasn’t the scent I thought it would be it was still very fresh, crisp, and clean. All in all this soap is great quality, definitely still worth the purchase. I’d also like to add that this soap should last you a long time! I found that as someone who shaves their underarms and legs everyday that this lasted a little over a month, so I’m sure for a guy that only needs this for the face this will last probably double that amount of time at least.
