    :

Very good aftershave, bottle is easy to hold and shake out the amount of aftershave you need. Scent isnt too overpowering just enough to notice. Smells like a barbershop, clean and refreshing

This item needs no review. Great fragrance, smells like a barbershop. A bracing aftershave, but one that is very easy on the skin. Most refreshing. Great “old man” lingering scent. One of my wife’s fav’s. Probably my favorite of all time thus far.

I tried this originally in a sample and absolutely loved it! It’s such a great scent: very nostalgic of simpler times, and a fantastic way to walk away refreshed from a shave. The cooling menthol is just the right amount, and the scent is pronounced for a while after application.

What a great aftershave. Classic barbershop, very manly and clean. My favorite aftershave right now.

    :

Very good classic barbershop scent without the powdery undertones of some other products. Same great cooling dry down as all of Mr Fine’s products.

Outstanding aftershave. Great cooling sensation and absolutely fantastic smell. It would be at home in every wet shaver’s arsenal. Highly recommended!

Classic barbershop scent. Clean and cooling with a menthol kick, fabulous scent. Highly recommend this aftershave

    :

Scents are personal for sure, but out of all the “barbershop” scents I’ve tried, Fine “American Blend” is tops for me. Straight up barbershop without any underlying tones such as powder, clove, vanilla, etc. Has a nice “light” menthol that adds a cooling effect without being overbearing.

This is the first fine AS that I have used and it does not disappoint!!! This stuff smells incredible it has quickly become my go to because the scent is so versatile and can go with so many different soaps. The amount of menthol is perfect not to over powering and it really does leave your face feeling great in the post shave.

    :

The best aftershave out there, hands down. I call it “New Spice.” If you don’t have this in your shave den, you are seriously missing out.

    :

This stuff is magical nostalgia in a bottle. If you enjoy a fantastically clean, fresh, dead-on “barbershop” scent (seriously, the drydown of this stuff smells almost identical to Barbasol Original, only with more class, oomph, depth, and character), then this is most definitely the aftershave for you. I fell in love at my first whiff. Five stars and then some!

    :

The perfect Barbershop scent and my personal favorite. One of my all time favorite scents is Barbershop type scents. Most are either not even close or they’re mising some important aspect of an “american barbershop” scent. This stuff is the complete opposite and matches it PERFECTLY.

I thought Platinum and Fresh Vetiver were good, but MY GOD this barbershop scent is intoxicating. I put a little on my wrists so I can smell it throughout the day without looking odd. It brings me back to the first time I ever went to an old school barber.

Guys (and gals)…there’s a reason this stuff’s usually sold out. I know the “barbershop” scent is something that’s considered subjective, so I’ll just say that this is just a timeless scent *overall*. Probably the biggest compliment to that was when I first opened the bottle (after letting it cool from the blazing fast shipping speed on MR’s part), I took a sniff and thought, “that kinda smells like my dad’s stuff” from when I was a kid watching him shave. Now I’m not the oldest shaver around, but that’s a scent that’s lasted 20+ years, and while it can harken back that far, it’s still a cutting edge scent. I personally use it as both an aftershave and as a mild cologne. Oh, and there are compliments… :)

So I have herd the scent was clean and amazing. The first time I smelled it I wasn’t overly excited but decided to stick with it and glad I did. I’m not sure what I didn’t like. About 5 min after applying the scent levels out and is wonderful. I have found the perfect pairing this and nivea aftershave balm….heavenly! Oh and it smooths and sooths the skin well. I like it so much I’m trying a few other scents as well.

This is a must have for every wet shaver.. why.. well its a classic.. yes the many versions of barbershop scents is quite over whelming.. but for me, this is a must have…. Yes, I Do have the london barbershop, the PAA CAD.. etc etc..

but since it was my first aftershave in wet shaving.. for the price, scent duration etc… this is just an awesome product..

    mucho recommended.

    :

Great clean and classic scent with a nice menthol kick. Has great longevity, too. This is apparently Fine’s smell-a-like of YSL Rive Gauche for Men. I haven’t tried the YSL but this stuff is most definitely a masculine fragrance that just yells “Barbershop!” But not in the cloying style of Pinaud. John Wayne in a bottle.

Old School scent, 19 to 90, everybody love it. Can not beat the price, give “snake bite” a try also.

Clean, classic, slightly different enough to stand apart from the rest. I received my first bottle of Fine American Blend a couple of days ago and I am hooked.
Excellent customer service and efficient communication from Maggards….many thanks!

    :

This stuff is FREAKING AMAZING and it makes me happy the entire day that I wear it. Actually, I wear it like a cologne and it has true staying power, at least 6 hours for me and sometimes longer. The ladies that I work with love it and always say it smells very fresh and clean. If I ever heard that Fine was going out of business, first of all, I would absolutely be pissed and I would purchase at least 10 bottles to get me through. Love, love, love this stuff.

There really isn’t a whole lot for me to say that hasn’t already been said. While the scent is impossibly pleasant, I do wish it was a tad stronger. I love barbershop scents because they go with nearly everything, and American Blend is almost too subtle.

I know some people balk at seeing ‘alcohol’ as an ingredient, but it is really very mild. If you can handle the burn from Clubman, then American Blend will present no difficulties. The alcohol tingles pleasantly, then the menthol comes along to cool everything down.

    :

In my opinion, Fine American Blend is a masterpiece. I bought the sample, and I will be buying a full size bottle once the sample runs out. I say it is a masterpiece for 2 reasons. Firstly, it is extremely soothing on the face. It smells very fresh and bright, and softens up nicely once the alcohol and menthol have dissipated. The menthol is very cooling, and just the right amount. The second trait that makes it masterpiece-caliber is that it is so versatile. It pairs very well with soft, citrusy, fresh scents (Razorock Essential Oil of Lime, TOBS Jermyn Street, Arko Classic) as well as more earthy scents like AOS Sandalwood. I just can’t get over how perfect this formulation is for me, and I’m really glad I found it. If nothing, it’s worth the price of a sample.

This is the first aftershave I’ve used and it’s quite good. First of all the bottle looks great. I gotta get the hang of using the shaker though.

The scent is a clean barbershop, old spicy-ish scent. I think it smells a lot better when you apply it to your face rather than sniffing it out of the bottle. I got a slight burn and then the menthol kicked it. To my face, it’s pretty cold but nothing crazy. The scent seems subtle so take that as you will. For me, that’s a plus. I don’t want to stink up the room.

Amazing barbershop scent aftershave! Pairs well with all three of the barbershop soaps that I currently have. Also makes a fine daily splash to thrown on before heading out for the day. This is my second Fine aftershave and I’ve been nothing but thrilled with their product!

    :

WOW! I LOVE this stuff and it has a FANTASTIC barbershop type scent! The menthol is very cooling and the overall scent has a lot of staying power for me. I can still smell it if I rub my hand on my face 10-12 hours later and I don’t use much, about 3-4 squirts from the little sample spray bottle into one hand. That’s enough for me to coat both hands, yet it isn’t so much that it drips off the hands. I recently bought two regular-size bottles, may have gone overboard since I plan to get a bottle of Fine L’Orange Noir and samples of their other scents. I’ve received compliments on American Blend from men and women at work. One gal said she’s going to buy a bottle for her husband and that she’d use it as an air freshener in the house if he doesn’t want to wear it. No kidding.

I have ordered this and a few other scents from Fine Accoutrements, this has become my favorite and I use it every day I shave.

    :

This aftershave absolutely blew my mind. I was skeptical but when I first gave this a try it had this familiar smell that I couldn’t quite put my foot on. But as I let it dry down it brought back memories of going to the local barbershop when I was a kid. Its amazing that Fine Accoutrements nailed that scent so perfectly. Its such a nice clean masculine scent that stands in stark contrast to a lot of modern scents in that it doesn’t project itself in a manner that invades your olfactory senses. This is a Fine aftershave no pun intended!

    :

My rating is solely based on performance. Since this is an alcohol based splash, the skin soothing properties are not the best. Once applied, the splash feels great and the skin does feel soft. I knocked off one star because as it is with most alcohol based splashes, it dries out my skin about 10-15 minutes later.

Fragrance wise it is very old school with heavy notes of anise (black licorice). Rounding out for me is geranium and oakmoss. It’s a very old school scent.
