Excellent shave, but a bit pricey considering there are less expensive alternatives that give a good shave.

I’m wondering if there’s some same-batch variabiliy, or something else. I tried two blades from a sampler pack, loved them. Trying again, hating it. Tugs, pulls, even a couple of small nicks. I haven’t changed razors or soap brands (Stirling). I’m shaving every other day now (Covid-19 regimen!) but otherwise no changes.

Let me preface with my facial hair and skin type as I do think this impacts blade performance. I’ve got pretty thick coarse hair and slightly sensitive skin (due mostly to said hair). I’ve been shaving with DEs for a few months and I did start off with IMHO pretty primo blade brands such as Kai, Feather, Astra, and Rapira. All are very keen and smooth blades with minute variances to me. I’d suggest those to anyone. However, GSBs day one to three have been an unpleasant and bloody trial. Tried several preshaves and soaps to see if that helped but no luck. They will cut my hair and take some flesh and blood with them. Brand new they shaved as good as my daily used, month old Mach 5 cartridges if that puts it into perspective.

One of the best bargains for a high-quality shave out there. The Gillette Silver Blue are at the top of my list of GREAT blades along with Feather, Kai, and Astra. Do yourself a favor and give these a try: you’ll be glad you did!

They gave a good shave, but I did experience some tugging on my 2day old beard. I’m still looking for the perfect blade. Honestly I get a better shave with a derby

I shave every 3rd day and this blade is the worse so far. The shave was very uncomfortable compared to others i have tried.

I tried a few brands to find the most comfort and close shave, I found these to be very good and better than others especcially for sensitive areas on the face, these offer a more mild and less aggressive blade then others, I even found the Gillette Platinum blades to be inferior to these on sensitive areas and pulling, these blues are pretty sharp (but still not as sharp as Rapira Platinum Lux) and give a nice comfortable shave, no pulling and i’m on my 4th shave with this blade and it is still going strong. I would put these as my 2nd favorite behind the Rapira Platinum Lux. For me it also comes down to the price/value and these are on the higher end when it comes to cost. I do recommend everyone gives the silver blues a try for themselves.

After trying many different razor blades, I have finally settled on these as my go-to blade. I really enjoy using these! I have super sensitive skin, and these blades will give me an extremely smooth bbs shave with ZERO irritation in my EJ DE89. I know everyone’s skin/beard is different, but I highly recommend giving these blades a try if you have really sensitive skin like I do.

This is the absolute smoothest blade I’ve ever encountered and I’ve used alot of DE blades. While they’re not as sharp as the Feather DE blades, but they’re very forgiving. These are a perfect choice for slant bar styled DE safety razors. These blade are also good for both beginners and veterans alike. These blades are an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin as well.

I got this blade in a sample pack from Maggards/ It’s a great sharp high quality blade that balances well with a neutral aggressive razor like a EJ DE89. I would highly reccomend this razor to anyone.

After trying so many different brands, this is in my top 3 and will remain in my rotation. Super sharp, but not as aggressive as some brands. No pulling or irritation whatsoever.
Clay – April 29, 2014:
I’ve tried many different blades but these are by far my favorite blade. A very close, comfortable shave. These are not as aggressive like a Feather. I get a close shave with less work and no irritation. A sharp but smooth blade, you won’t turn your lather a shade of red.

I LOVE THESE BLADES! Got into wet shaving a couple months ago and tried A Derby blade and found that they just arent for me so I got a sample pack and got a box of GSBs and fell in love with them! Smooth and clean shaving is all I got to say, and no pull or tug either. Definetly a every-day blade, for a few days growth maybe a Kai but not a Feather. Feathers are WAY to sharp, but I think KAIs are just about perfect for a longer thicker whisker, you know 3 or 4 days out. Its gonna be tough to find out cause since I’ve been wet-shaving, shaving has become more than just a hobby, its now an obsession. I now know what a “Baby Bottom Smooth” face feels like! I never had this with a multi-blade piece of junk, and I shave at night and don’t get a five-o-clock shadow till about 8pm the next day, and I got a thick beard, Thanks for all your help!
Joshua – October 13, 2013:
I have probably tried 12 types of blades in the past few years. These live up to the hype. They are sharp and smooth. By far my favorite blade, and the only one that works great in every razor. I’m done trying.
Not that bad
