Product Description

Quality materials and a great price – it is difficult to go wrong with a Maggard Razors DE. These traditional double edge safety razors are ideal for the beginner, while seasoned wet shavers will appreciate the high quality handles and smooth shaving heads.

The MRT is a short, travel size solid 303 stainless knurled handle razor with a satin finish

Heads:
We now offer 3 different heads to choose from.  Each comes with its own shaving characteristics.
– The V3 Standard:  Best for beginners, this head It offers a mild-moderate shave with excellent efficiency.  Shaves just as well as many of the big name brands with no noticeable difference in quality
– The V2 Open Comb:   Another great option for beginners, the V2 Open comb shaves nearly identical to the Parker 24C/26C heads.  Super comfortable, and super efficient – this heads gives the results of the aggressive razors without any of the harshness.
– The V3A Aggressive:   Enthusiasts and those looking for a more aggressive razor to plow through the toughest of beards may opt for the V3A – a highly efficient shaving head that offers plenty of blade exposure.  With some time and skill we feel many will enjoy this head.  Comes in a beautiful matte gray plating finish.

Materials:
Most of the Maggard Razors line come equipped with solid 303 stainless steel handles (MR1, MR3, MR5, MR6, MR7, MR8, MR9, MR18, MR18C, MR22).  The MR20 has a hollow Stainless steel handle.  The heads of the entire Maggard line are chrome plated cast zinc alloy.

Quality Control:
We have visually inspected every single razor for manufacturing flaws.  Many heads we test fit a blade to ensure blade exposure and gap consistency. You won’t find any bubbled up plating or overly rough edges on your new razor. The heads thread smoothly, and on every razor we have shave tested, each one was consistent in shaving from both sides of the blade.  We stand behind these razors – so if you find a flaw that affects your shave, simply contact us and we will resolve the issue!

Handle Compatibility:
Our safety razors use standard threading that is compatible with almost all other 3 piece razors (Edwin Jagger, Merkur, Muhle, Gillette, Fatip, iKon, Above the Tie, just to name a few).

Shave with it, enjoy it, and remember, this is a budget razor!  It is cheap enough to buy one for all of your friends and help expand our community.  This is the reason we’ve made these available and the reason for their great success!

    :

I just had my first shave with the Maggard Travel Safety Razor. I opted for the “Standard” V3 shaving head and the leather travel pouch. The quality of the Maggard Travel Razor is top notch. The “feel” of the razor is surprisingly hefty and solid for its smaller size. I loaded it with an Astra blade and had a smooth predictable experience. Easy to control handle even for guys with big old bass-player hands like me.

    :

This is one nice handle. Heavy (just the right weight) and very easy to hold on to. Couple it with the V3A head and the Leather Travel Pouch and you will not be sorry. Best set I have owned.

    :

I bought this as my second razor when i was looking for an affordable stainless steel handle. Was only 3.95 add on for the v3 head and i figured why not. I originally intended to use the MRT handle together with my existing Merkur OC head and i had it that way for 2 weeks until I decided to try the v3 head to see how it compares. Suffice to say that from now on, I’ll be using the v3 head instead. Pleasantly efficient and comfortable shave. I usually need to do 3 passes plus quite an extensive touch up on my neck chin area with the Merkur OC head. With the v3 head, i only needed 2 passes and minimal touch up.

As for the handle, some people prefer it long and some prefer them short. I personally like them as short as possible such that I’d hold it like a pen, feels that i have more control this way. The MRT handle is the perfect length for me and is quite hefty for its size.

    :

I bought this with the v2 head and the the leather pouch to make up a travel kit. My other 2 razors have quite long handles, so I wasn’t sure if I’d get on with this one. I needn’t have worried – it is well crafted and easy to grip with just enough weight to ensure good control.
One star deducted for the leather pouch – it may loosen up over time, but from new it is difficult to close with the handle and head inside. 5mm longer would do the trick.

I don’t believe I could say it better than David other than to extend his comments to include the other heads available and that the pouch does get a bit looser with time.

In truth, the longer handles could be tucked in my kit but for ultra compact this set is tops. I used the MRT handle over 30 days and never felt handicapped with the smaller handle in the least.
