We offer straight razors, safety razors, thousands of wet shaving supplies, and restoration services.  We are constantly expanding our offerings, and are enjoying good success – we should be around for years to come!


 

Maggard Razors, LLC was established in October, 2012.  We are a husband and wife team – Brad and Casie Maggard – who have worked hard to realize our dreams of becoming small business owners.

 


Brad Maggard
After 15 years in the IT field, Brad was finally able to leave his day job in September 2016.  A hobby turned business success story, Brad has been restoring straight razors since February of 2009, and has honed 5,500+ razors (as of mid 2020).  Besides performing services, he manages brand acquisition and  high level business operations. He also fills any position in the store when needed.

Casie Maggard
Casie was able to quit her day job in August of 2013 and is now managing store operations full time. Casie is our CFO and handles all aspects of accounting and payroll.  She also keeps our automated inventory systems running.

Collin Butchart
Collin started working for us in February 2014, and briefly left us for a period in 2018-19 but is now back.  Collin is responsible for purchasing and inventory management.

Jerick Timm
Jerick joined our team in May of 2016 and was promoted to Ecommerce Fulfillment Manager in September 2018. He has been wet shaving since 2012.

Shipping Information

Maggard Razors will make every effort to ship out orders on the same day placed before 12pm EST Monday-Friday. On Saturday, most parcels should ship if placed before 10am EST – otherwise it will ship the following Monday.  Orders will be shipped in the order in which they are received. If it is an unusually busy day your order may be delayed no more than 1 business day.  The only guaranteed delivery time service that Maggard Razors offers is FedEx, so if you need an order arrival guaranteed, select a FedEx 2-day or Overnight method.   USPS only issues estimated delivery times, and they are not guaranteed.

Overnight Orders  NOTE – FedEx does not pick up OR deliver orders on Saturdays.   FedEx Overnight orders on placed on Friday before 3PM will be delivered Monday.  FedEx Overnight orders placed after 3PM on Friday will be delivered Tuesday).  USPS Express Overnight orders do get picked up on Saturdays, and should arrive on Monday – but USPS does not guarantee their services.

Domestic Orders  Should arrive within the following estimated time ranges:

  • USPS First Class:  1-5 days
  • USPS Priority:  2-3 days
  • FedEx Overnight: 1 day, Guaranteed* (no Saturday delivery or pickup)
  • FedEx 2-day:  2 days, Guaranteed*
  • FedEx Ground: 2-6 days

FedEx does not deliver to PO boxes   If you select a FedEx guaranteed service and then provide a US Post office box address, we will change the shipping method to USPS and your parcel will not have a delivery guarantee.

FedEx 2-Day Delivery Times
FedEx doesn’t consider Saturday a normal business day unfortunately.  However – we do have Saturday delivery for Thursday shipped parcels.  parcels that go out on Friday unfortunately do not include Saturday or Sunday  as working business days.  Therefore, parcels we ship on various days of week will arrive as follows:

Monday -> Wednesday
Tuesday -> Thursday
Wednesday -> Friday
Thursday -> Saturday
Friday -> Tuesday
Saturday -> Tuesday
Sunday -> Wednesday

*FedEx Delivery Guarantees  If you select a FedEx service (2-day Guaranteed or Overnight), and the parcel transit time takes longer than the service guarantees, you will be compensated  with a store credit equaling either $5.00 or the actual amount that you paid for shipping, whichever is larger.   The guarantee only applies to transit time — not from the time that you place the order.  There are times we are overwhelmed with orders and require additional processing time.  For parcels that never arrive, we ask for 15 calendar days and 5 days of tracking inactivity before we take action to correct the error by re-shipping the order at our expense if necessary.

Tracking Sometimes packages are not scanned and can seem to stay in a certain area for a while. Please do not be alarmed. The bar code may have been damaged or it may have missed a checkpoint scan. Be patient – your package will arrive.

USPS Delays If your package ships with a USPS service, and does not arrive after *21 calendar days and 5 days of tracking inactivity, we will take action to correct the error by re-shipping the order at our expense if necessary.  Maggard Razors makes no guarantee on USPS delivery times.

Shipping Address  All orders will be shipped to the “ship to” address entered at checkout. If the “ship to” address is not verifiable by our shipping software we will contact you via email to verify its accuracy. This may delay shipping.  The buyer will be responsible for additional shipping fees if the address provided is undeliverable. If a package can not be delivered and the buyer wants a refund, you will be refunded the purchase price minus the actual shipping costs. In these cases we will have to have received the package back to re-ship, or refund.

*In the event that a package is lost, stolen, or damaged. You agree to fully cooperate and fill out all insurance claim paperwork if necessary. Orders will not be reshipped without full cooperation.

International Orders Under We offer Economy International Shipping Services, USPS International First Class shipping services, and USPS Priority International shipping services.   Upon placing an International order, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

1) Economy International Shipping service does not have tracking, and usually arrives in 10-20 calendar days.  However, if a package is held in customs it could take an additional 40 calendar days.  We are not responsible for any packages held by customs or any items confiscated by customs. Maggard Razors is also not responsible for any duty, taxes, or additional fees charged by the recipients mailing service or government.  Any claims for lost Economy International packages can not be made until 60 days after the shipping date.  For Chile, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Russia – 75 days after the shipping date. 

2)  United States First Class International mail usually arrives in 7-15 calendar days. However if a package is held in customs it could take an additional 30 calendar days.  We are not responsible for any packages held by customs or any items confiscated by customs. Maggard Razors is also not responsible for any duty, taxes, or additional fees charged by the recipients mailing service or government.  Any claims for lost First Class International packages can not be made until 45 days after the shipping date.  For Chile, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Russia – 60 days after the shipping date. 

3) United States Priority International mail usually arrives in 7-10 calendar days. However if a package is held in customs it could take an additional 30 calendar days.  We are not responsible for any packages held by customs or any items confiscated by customs. Maggard Razors is also not responsible for any duty, taxes, or additional fees charged by the recipients mailing service or government.  Any claims for lost Priority International packages can not be made until 40 days after the shipping date.

4) If your shipping address changes during the lost package claim window you will not be eligible for a reshipment of your order.

In the event that a package is lost, stolen, or damaged. You agree to fully cooperate and fill out all insurance claim paperwork if it is necessary. Orders will not be reshipped without full cooperation. As soon as we receive the paperwork back we will reship your order. This can be done electronically and will only take a few minutes out of your day. 

5) We are not responsible for any packages lost, damaged, or stolen when using a forwarding service.

6) There is NO GUARANTEE on International delivery times.

7)  United states postal service prohibits all alcohol based products via air mail. If an international order containing an alcohol based product is placed the item will be removed from the order and the purchase price of the item and any shipping costs associated with the item will be refunded.

8) International addresses are not able to be verified by our shipping software.  The buyer will be responsible for additional shipping fees if the address provided is undeliverable. If a package can not be delivered and the buyer wants a refund, you will be refunded the purchase price minus the actual shipping costs. In these cases we will have to have received the package back to re-ship, or refund.

Maggard Razors requires all international orders over $150.00 to provide additional information to prevent fraud.

Upon placing an order over $150.00 you will receive an email requesting a photo copy of your ID and a photo copy of your credit card with the name and last 4 numbers visible. 

We also require your billing and shipping address to be the same. If they do not match we will ship to the billing address. If this is a problem we will cancel the order.   We may also require you to call us to give us more information.   We will hold the order for a week. If we do not hear from you in that time we will refund and cancel the order.   Thank you for your cooperation. 

APO/FPO Yes! We ship to APO/FPO addresses! Sometimes packages are not scanned and can seem to stay in a certain area for a while. Please do not be alarmed.  Be patient your package will arrive. Under 16 ounces will ship via First Class with tracking. Over 16 ounces, we ship Priority Mail with tracking. There is No Guarantee on delivery times.

Return Policy

Damage:  If your item is damaged or defective in some way, we will make sure you are taken care of.   Please contact us with pictures and a description of the damages within 10 days of arrival and we will arrange for appropriate compensation or a replacement at no cost to you.

Defects:  If your item has a defect please contact us with pictures and a description of the defect within 10 days of arrival and we will arrange for appropriate compensation or replacement. If a problem arises after 10 days, please contact the manufacture directly.

Return Policy

Razors – Unused replaceable blade razors may be returned within 10 days for a full refund* or store credit

Straight razors, vintage razors, used, or restored razors may be returned within 10 days for a refund* or store credit less a 20% restocking fee

All other Products – Unused items may be returned within 10 days for a full refund* or store credit.

For orders that qualified for free or reduced shipping, if a return causes the resulting total order size to be under the free shipping threshold (currently $45.00), the actual cost of shipping we paid will be reduced from your refund.  For EDGE Members, if a return causes your order total size to be under $45.00, we will reduce half the cost of shipping from your refund.

Used products may not be returned.

Clearance – All sales are final on clearance merchandise.
Samples- All sales are final on samples.

Buyers are responsible for all return shipping charges.
Buyers are responsible for all exchange shipping charges.

Please ship all returns in a box. We are not responsible for damaged items that are returned to us. If an item arrives damaged we will take the appropriate % off of the return. If the item is completely damaged we will not issue a refund. Please take care in packaging returns. Thank you.

    Been using my new MR5 handle matched with a Merkur 42C head. Just what I wanted – longer than the original handle, much more heft, and a great grip. Perfect shaving instrument for me.

    Maggard’s has wonderful customer service. Both in store and online. The staff is always friendly and will help with any questions I may have. Their selection and prices are very nice, and the shipping is super fast. This is the first place I go for shaving supplies, highly recommended.

    On my most recent order, Casie emailed me asking for an address verification for shipping because we use both a PO box and a street address. There’s something refreshing about having one of the owners making the effort to ensure a transaction proceeds smoothly. There was no problem, and my order shipped a few hours after it had been received. It arrived, in perfect condition, a day earlier than promised.

    I can’t imagine a better example of a customer-centered small business than Maggard. May they prosper!

    Haven’t ordered online yet, but I did make a very worthwhile side trip on my way back home from Cleveland last week. Very cool store, with very nice, helpful folks working there. Brad gave me some great, dead-on tips on several things, which I really appreciated. If you ever have a chance to stop by the store in person, I absolutely HIGHLY recommend it, but be prepared to spend some time looking/sniffing around and checking everything out- It really is a major sensory overload. Thanks for the hospitality, Brad & Co., I hope to make it back soon!

    I have been ordering from Maggard Razors for about 9 months now and it is the only place that I will order wet shaving supplies from because there service and attention to detail is the best out of anyone I’ve ordered from. I’ve ordered from a couple other suppliers and they did fine, but this is by far the best place order from.
    The orders ship out very quickly.

    HI there
    I have a Gillette New rhodium short comb head which needs a new handle and I’m wondering if you sell for instance your MR1 Knurled Stainless Steel Handle as a ‘handle only’ item.
    A factory second .. ie a scratch of something like that .. would be perfect as it would help defray Australian dollar currency conversion and international shipping rate .. though international shipping of just a handle in an envelope shluld be a lot cheaper than parcel post!
    Info greatly appreciated .. as you can tell, I’m in Australia.

    I just want to say that Maggard Razors is the best wet shaving company I have ever dealt with. Your customer relations and customer service should be the standard for the rest to measure themselves by, IMHO.
    For this reason, I shop Maggard if at all possible. I only go elsewhere if for some reason you do not carry what I’m looking for.
    For instance, I recently purchased your razor pinning kit. The rods and washers for this kit are available elsewhere online, and I’m sure if I shopped around I could buy in bulk and save a bit of cash. But I’m a hobbyist, and not churning out a ton of razors per year. With your kits, i know that I’m getting the proper materials, and they will arrive quickly to my doorstep
    I would also like to personally thank Brad Maggard for the restoration videos on your Youtube channel. They helped me tremendously, though they did fuel a big love for Mother’s. 🙂

    I ordered an MR5 from Maggard and while USPS showed it shipped, I never received it. Casie informed me of their policy that they would re ship after 21 days if the original item never showed up. Well, I was scheduled to go out of town for 3 weeks and was looking forward to taking my new razor with me. I explained this to Casie via emaoil and she promptly shipped out another MR5 – this was before the scheduled 21 day waiting period. And while I have not yet received the second razor, I see that it is out for delivery today. THAT’S customer service!. This is the kind of personal service and can-do attitude that is missing from the big retail establishments, that makes me want to do business with the “Mom and Pop” stores, and is the kind of customer service that I hope puts the folks at Maggard Razors on the map! Kudos to Maggard Razors!

    I just decided to begin using a straight razor.
    I found that, historically speaking, weekly sets of straight razors were used.

    I went to eBay and was lucky enough to purchase a 7-day J.A. Henckels set for just over $400.
    The set needs some restoration as it is over 100 years old.

    Absolutely top notch customer care. As others say on these pages: virtually immediate confirmation of order from Casie and any remarks from her on filling it. Then shipping without any delay. Reasonable shipping cost. Package arrives in two days — very carefully packed with marked packing slip by Collin, and the reverse side of the slip has a bunch of helpful hints re: a variety of products. All this at a good price. Who the bleep needs Amazon when a fine small biz like Maggard can put a smile on your face just by doing it right??

    WOW!! What fantastic people to work with. Let me say that I found Maggard Razors by accident. Was looking for shaving cream samples to test in order to find several that I like, without buying the whole tube first. This company gives the consumer alot of options and choices in selecting blade and shaving cream samples. They are also very competitive on their prices. I have checked out 10 different shaving supply sites, and have found only 1 other site that has the shaving cream samples you can select. Casie responds quickly about inquiries and order information. The items I ordered were packaged and sealed well, and sent quickly. It arrived in a few days. If you are looking for a company that has a great selection of products, great prices, gives you options for sample packs and has superb customer service practices……. This is the place to shop. By the way, I ordered 3,in stock, shaving cream samples from another supplier on the same day, it hasn’t been sent or filled according to their website. It’s been 3 days and no correspondence about the order.

    Hello Brad and Casie. Prior to reading your “About Us” I had already made my purchase. Although I submitted my order on family night(Sunday), I received a confirmation email from Casie informing me that my package would be shipped that fallowing Tuesday. To my surprise I received my tracking number the next day on Monday and waited in anticipation. I received my order 3 days later on Thursday. Thank you for the suburb customer service.     I recently ordered a blade sampler pack. Many sites offer sampler packs, but I chose Maggard Razors because rather than having a predetermined sampler pack, you allow the customer to create their own. After the order, I was kept informed on the status of my order by email. I knew my order had been submitted, processed, and shipped with tracking number. The order arrived very quickly. You’ve got your priorities in the right place and you execute the sale flawlessly. I look forward to placing more orders.

    Thank you Maggard Razors. Just got my DE razor blade sample pack. Being able to choose which blades you want is a huge deal. One that is personal to each individual. Your site is the only one I have seen that offers this. I am telling everyone I know in the shave world to go to Maggard Razors.

    I wanted to take a moment to say how wonderful the customer service has been from you all. I also work in the public sector and know how important a good relationship with clients can be. Moments after I placed my order I received a personal e-mail stating the items would be shipped out that day and low and behold they actually were! It was great! While the mail service was delayed one day due to the winter weather I do no hold this store responsible for said delay. Truly, I’m pleased to have been able to support a US and MI business and to have had such a good experience with them. You rock Maggard and I look forward to doing more business with you in the future!!!

    I just wanted to thank you guys for awesome customer service and a quick turn around on an order placed last Saturday morning. I placed the order a little before 8:00 a.m. and by 8:16 I received a confirmation e-mail saying that my item would be shipped out that day. I also think that it is great that you guys offer samples of products. I have not found another company that offers them. There are so many options for shaving creams out there that I have often been stuck with a tub of shaving cream that I don’t really like the smell for. Thank you guys for your fast service, great selection of items and great prices. You have definitely earned a new customer. Now I just need to find an excuse to come there from NC to check out the shop.

    Just wanted to comment again on what great customer service I received. I placed an order late Wednesday night, had a confirmation email at 8:08 Thursday morning, and it was on my doorstep the next day! Email communications were answered within minutes! Knowing that I can get my package next day could prove to be dangerous for my bank account. I have a feeling I will probably be putting your kid through college, tell me which one you prefer him to attend, and I will send my money directly to them. lol

    The wife and I are planning on making a trip to the store this Wednesday, I can’t wait!

    I just got the budget starter kit and it is great!!! The razor is really well made and handsome with a nice weight to it too. I decided to try DE razor saving with your razor and glad I did.     These are actually referred to as “torx” screws. I believe I got them from Texas knife supply…. And honestly I can’t remember what size they were. I believe the threaded barrels are 1/8″. Most razors do not have a pivot hole large enough for these screws. Hopefully you can find them!
