I tried the blade in my Maggard MR1/v2, and the combination of that razor, that blade, and my face was horrible. I ended up with 3 cuts on my face on the first shave, more than I got from the other 4 blades I tested combined. I did that yesterday morning, and my face was too irritated to shave today. I’m tossing the rest of the pack,
I’m not a novice to DE, I used one for over 20 years, then when they started drying up in the stores, I went cartridge. I got a razor, and samples of blades for Christmas.
I like the Astra platinum best, I wouldn’t toss out the Derby’s, they work, and I get about 4 shaves, the Gillette green box Super stainless is not bad, but, it seems to only be good for 2 shaves. The 7AM surprised me, handily beating the Shark blades for bottom spot.
It was the sampler pack of 5 blades. The sampler pack is a great way to go, You’ll zero in pretty quick on what works for you, and you’re not stuck with a lot of blades you don’t want anywhere near your face.

I’ve read good and bad about these blades and ordered a pack of 5 to try them. My main shaver is the Merkur Futur. This blade worked great. Smooth and sharp with no pulling or nicks or cuts. Only had to do a second pass on certain spots with a little touching up to do. I don’t know how they work in less aggressive razors but they work great in my Futur. Like to see if all 5 are consistent before ordering them in bulk. So far I’ve gotten 4 good shaves on the first blade. Blades work differently for everyone so give them a try.

I’ve tried about a dozen different razors in sample packs. This is the worst one I’ve ever tried

Blades for me just arnt that great. I’m relatively new to DE shaving but these blades In My Rockwell 6c and my Gillette red tip were down right painful shaved lots of tugging pulling and skin irritation. I normally do 2 or 3 passes for a complete and smooth shave thicker hair and beard growth. Personally I think I’ll continue searching blades but so far big fan of feather and astra blades.

Feather doesn’t need another 5 star rating from me, but 7AM certainly do too. I can attest to other shavers here about mileage varying, and success with a Merkur head &or handle. These are my regular, daily go-tos, which I intersperse with slightly more aggressive Feather for the convenience – for both my face and budget. Feathers’ plastic case holds 7AM just as well!

This is based of a single 5 pack, so ymmv. I’ve used these blades in 2 different razors, a Merkur 23C and a Maggard MR8 with the V2 head. The blades performed very well, no tugging or pulling, and even though my technique admittedly is pretty bad, managed several smooth shaves with no razor burn or cuts. Blade seems to get smoother with use( i’ve used blades upwards of 5 times apiece).
My go to blades are Astra Superior Platinum. If these were cheaper than Astra, I definitely consider changing.

These give me the greatest shave. They’re just slightly aggressive, but they give an extremely close, smooth shave. I got a sampler pack, and liked these better than Feather’s, Astras, and Sharks.

To each his own. Everyone’s face will shave differently, and some blades are probably more forgiving to technique than others. Get a sample pack and try several out. For me, these win hands-down. They’re not the cheapest, but not the most expensive to buy in bulk, either.

I don’t have a lot to say about these blades other than I got a few good, comfortable shaves from one. I mainly wanted to comment due to the negative reviews. I have shaved with much worse.

Terrible blades. This blade was getting caught on my beard hair. Thing is, I have just average beard growth and thickness. I could only imagine this trying to go through a course beard. If you have ULTRA thin hair this might work, but anyone of average thickness will have trouble getting through stubble.

    TL;DR Not very sharp.

Go into your garage and grab a flat straight edge screwdriver from your tool bucket. Now take a brick hammer and chip concrete for an hour with it. Now try and shave with it. Well you get the idea. These blades suck.

I’ve run a couple of these through the razor and haven’t been impressed. Razor burn was common and it was though it just couldn’t cut through the hair (pulled at my face). For reference, I seem to enjoy the Feathers, the Durablade Sharps, and the Astra Platinum.

Love these blades! Not quite as sharp as the Feather blade, but these do quite well for me in both my MR20 and my Merkur adjustable. Pretty smooth blade and can get BBS quality with some effort.

These are decent blades. Sharper than derby blades, and much less irritating than Feather blades. I’ll use up the 5-pack that I bought, but I’ll likely keep looking for my ideal blade.

terrible, just terrible blades. I received a few of these in a sampler pack and honestly can’t remember the last time i had such a bad shave. I used them more than once and tried more than one blade thinking i had a dud, but these blades just don’t work for me. everyone has different tastes, but these are not for me
