Product Description

The Windsor SSM1 Stainless Steel Safety Razor is hand crafted from solid 303 stainless steel here in the USA, and finished with a high polish.

Windsor Cap: The Windsor cap is wider on all sides than our traditional standard cap.  This covers the blade tabs on the end, for a more refined look.  The cap reduces vibration in the blade, making it our smoothest, most luxurious feeling shaver yet.

Calypso: The Calypso style handle, with the classic “Barber Pole” look, is 3½” long and weighs 74 grams.

SSM1: The SSM1 Base Plate is the mildest and most gentle of the solid bar line with a .25 mm blade gap.  The SSM1 is longer than the standard M1, and covers the blade tabs on the end.

When assembled, the Windsor SSM1 razor weighs in at 116 grams, total length is 3¾”.

This tool is wonderfully machined with very tight tolerances. The blade seats precisely in the head with symmetrical blade exposure. This razor is easy to master because the shave angle is very intuitive. The Windsor SSM1 is our smoothest feeling razor yet, while still maintaining the efficiency you know and love.

The Calypso handle also fits the following; Weber, Tradede OC, Goodfella, Edwin Jagger, Muhle, Gillette Old Type and Tech heads.

I have been using an ATT Kronos M1 razor for over two years and I absolutely love this razor. A few weeks ago I came into a little found money and decided to treat myself to the Windsor M!. The Windsor is absolute perfection! This model has a lower profile head than the previous model, so it easily gets the small places under my nose. The top cap covers the blade tabs and extends a bit further out to the edge of the blade so there is less blade exposure. The result is a slightly milder razor than the earlier model. Despite its good manors Windsor is surprisingly efficient and easily removes a three day growth. Still having a little money that was burning a hole in my pocket and thinking that I might want something a bit more efficient I purchased an R1 baseplate from ATT. After using both versions of this razor for a few weeks, I really cannot say which I like better. The R plate is a bit better suited to removing a few days growth, but both base plates give an extremely comfortable, extremely close shave. Have I mentioned that this razor is absolutely gorgeous? The Windsor is finished to a high polish and is a real eye dazzler. The weight and balance are perfect. In addition to the excellent shave and the great appearance, I like that this was made in a precision machine shop right here in the USA. My grandfather was a machinist so I have a soft spot for well machined products. This is probably my last razor because I cannot imagine anything that will top it. Finally — kudos (again) to Maggard’s for their great service and for getting this to me lickity split.
