Product Description

Kaizen – To Constantly Improve

Scent Notes: Mandarin, Calabrian Bergamot, Lemon Peel, Neroli, Honeysuckle, Green Apple, Rose, Tobacco Absolute, Haitian Vetiver, Sandalwood, Cedarwood

This new soap base has been in the works for a very long time.

Kaizen is a game changer for us. My goal was to be strong in all categories. These included:

  • Affordability
  • Ease of use
  • Creaminess
  • Density of lather
  • Slickness
  • Residual slickness
  • Cushion/ protection
  • Longevity of lather
  • Moisturizing
  • Great post shave (hours after the shave)

Kaizen hit all the goals I set forth and more. I’m very proud to introduce our first soap by the same name, Kaizen.

I wanted our artist Dorian to create a label which personified our branding for this particular soap. I knew I would launch the first soap under the same name, so it needed to have an Asian influence. I wanted it to be whimsical, edgy, sexy, colorful and grab your attention. She did a superb job creating this label!  The scent is a bit brighter than I would normally introduce. Even our previous fruit themed soaps like Asian Pear, Asian Plum and Summer Fig offer a hint of darkness which I left out of this soap.  Kaizen is happy, sunny, bright and deliciously sweet (although I toned down the sweetness just prior to release).

This is a pretty good soap overall to have in a collection but purchasing a second one is not necessary. The scent is not overpowering and the lather is just right. I am going to pass on adding the aftershave to my collection.

Disclaimer: A&E has poor customer service. An aftershave, Peaches & Cognac, was ordered directly from A&E and delivered damaged. A&E failed to replace it after waiting two weeks so I went through PayPal for a refund. I will not order from them again or join the club.

For some reason ive never been able to use peters soaps because the 4 i tried back in the day all gave me a bad reaction. Ive never been able to figure out what it was because ive never had that happen from any other soap. I saw this release and i heard how great it was so with it being a new formula and all i figured ahh what the hell ill give it a try and luckly i had zero reactions to it. And im so happy because it was a amazing product. Now im looking forward to buying more releases in this base.

This scent is in the same vein I’d say as Aqua di Parma. It’s not a dupe and it’s not super cologne(y) if you will, but it’s a light (not weak) and bright citrus scent that is all around just amazing! It’s one of the top two or three soap bases in the world right now so you should buy this. Especially if you’re new to wet shaving because it’s easy to use and performance is literally amazing. Full disclosure I didn’t purchase mine from Maggard’s as I ordered mine direct from the shaving shop club, which you have to pay to be a member of. I however, order 99% of my stuff from Maggard’s because they have an awesome team and unbeatable customer service!
