Product Description

We are proud to release Ozymandias, a tour de force of vibrant dark woods teaming with creamy, refined Mysore Sandalwood finished impeccably with white musk and dark resinous vanilla.

Heart notes of generous Rosewood, beautiful floral Orris and the warmth of Cedar resting on the sweetness of Honey. The sum is greater than the whole accord.

The warming camaraderie of white rums suitably aged and rested, accented by intangible suggestions of Red Cherry and Blueberry as the fragrance opens.

To experience Ozymandias is to experience a deep fragrance of multiple accords, a narrative of agelessness, memory and time where the lone and level sands stretch far away.

Australian Private Reserve soaps perform phenomenally. Their lather is thick and rich and provides excellent slickness. The scent of Ozymandias is very complex, more complex than I’m able to accurately break down. However, what comes through for me is the cedar, woodsy scent. It’s very fresh with just a touch of spice. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite APR scent, but it’s definitely worth a try.

Let me first start by saying that I think the quality of all soaps coming from Australian Private Reserve really is one of the very best, if not The best! It really is a joy shaving with APR! Like all scents of APR, this one is (of course) complex. Usually there is at least one note to be mentioned that can be traced, however, the combination of all the ingredients, makes it really difficult to describe. When opening the jar and being introduced to the scent, I didn’t know if I was going to like it. I didn’t dislike it actually when smelling it for the first time. But now, the longer I smell it, I really am starting to like the scent with all its complexities. If I had to try and describe it, I would say that it smelled like a damp rainy forest with a fair amount of freshness and with some sweetness of honey.
Creating the lather is really not an issue as long as you keep in mind that the APR’s need a fair amount of water. The lather is very slick, thick and has a very nice cushion. Shaving is really a joy as I mentioned earlier, the razor slides very smoothly across the skin. The post shave is outstanding in terms of protection, feeling and experience. Ozymandias is a bit less strong as Torchwood and so you do smell it still a couple of hours after your shave. You most likely wont smell it at the end of your day. So I would say the strength is about mid-strong. All in all Ozymandias is a great soap that I can highly recommend! . Quality is a 5 rating, scent makes it a 3. Review based on a sample from Maggard Razors.

Complex scent, like all APR scents. One of the top performers in the
industry and easily the best soap base in the southern hemisphere.

I absolutely love this scent. It’s slightly more muted than Pre de Provence no. 63 but to my nose it’s very similar. APR base is awesome. Winner for me.

Just to provide a different experience from Robin, Ozymandias is amongst my favorite scents. As with all of my APR Soaps, I find their fragrances complex. Like a lot of guys I am not good at scent descriptions, but it hits my nose as a sort of boozy cologne with multiple scent notes fleshing it out. It is one of my 5 top scents. But as the saying goes “There’s no disputing taste.”

I was really excited for this but. It just smells like a really strong urinal cake. I’m so disappointed. Hope it smells better on skin.
