Very mild blade feel but is fairly efficient with my favorite blades. Would be great if you want to start shaving with a double edge razor or if you want a cheap razor for travel.

This is my first TTO style razor, so I have no other TTO’s to compare it to. I will say the quality of shave I get from this razor is great. I have shaven with it about 20 times. The razor is rather light weight, and thus may give off the illusion of cheap build quality, but I have had no problem with this razor. The doors/wings hold the blade very snug, and I have had nothing but perfect blade alignment. The Razor does not clog easily. I would describe its aggressiveness/efficiency as medium. While the handle doesn’t have narling, the handle is very slip resistant and feels nice in the hand. This isn’t my best razor, but it is certainly a good razor. I find the TTO style to be really awesome because it makes loading and removing the blade very easy. And its just so fun to open these things. I’ve heard these things are hard to clean, but I just cleaned mine, it didn’t seem to take any more fiddling with than my 3-piece razors. If you’ve ever wanted to try a TTO style razor, I think this would be an excellent choice. Due to the ease of changing blades in a TTO, and the good blade alignment, and the medium aggression, I also think this would make a great first safety razor for someone. Considering Maggard’s current clearance price of $5.45, this may be the best deal on a razor right now.

Just had a shave with this and it worked great! I prefer a quite mild razor, usually a Merkur 34, and this was equally smooth and comfortable with my usual Personna blade. The blade gap felt a bit wider than the Merkur, so watch your blade angle. Fantastic value for the price and I would feel fine about replacing it if I needed to.

    Surprisingly nice for the money.

Feels very flimsy and a bit lightweight, but once you tighten it, it holds the blade tightly and feels solid.

Shaved with it twice so far and with a Derby Extra blade it actually gave a pretty close, comfortable shave. Mild to medium aggressiveness, doesn’t clog easily at all.
