I’ve been evaluating blades lately, using an ATT Calypso razor with a Mild plate. Sensitive skin here. These Bolzano blades are just average for my needs. Didn’t hate them, but I don’t really like them. Duller blades ought to at least be smooth. The Bolzanos were neither very sharp nor very smooth, just sorta average but expensive. After shaving, my alum block stung so bad that I actually yelped out loud. By comparison, so far — for duller blades (but smooth) I like Derby, and for sharper blades (but still smooth) I like Crystals or Nacets.

Well I’m SOLD. I see that the reviews are all over the place and that’s how it usually is. I get a wonderful shave with these blades. I always chuck my DE blades after 5 uses, but Bolzano’s are still going strong at #5 for me YMMV.

I expected more for the price. Sharp enough, but a little scratchy and made me feel like I needed to take more care to avoid nicks. I’ve tried 15 blades and rate them from 1 (best) to four. This got a 3.

    :

A very middle-of-the-road experience for me. A somewhat rough blade for my face, seems very similar to Merkur and Chroma blades. Not the smoothest nor closest shave. Seems overpriced to me.

Not sharp at all. Prone to nicks, etc. Not for me. Lots of pulling. Where they did cut, it was surprisingly smooth. Expensive.

    :

My review is based on three shaves with one blade. I don’t feel that these are worth the cost, as compared to some of the other blades. On one hand it seems to offer a close shave in some areas, but seems to be a little “too” sharp in other areas. In other words, the sharpness doesn’t seem to be consistent some how. Gets worse after 2-3 uses. Usually I have no cuts, but ended up with one or two with these. Will try again as I have four left, and place another review down the road, maybe was just a bad blade. I shave without letting my facial hair grow too long, so this may be better suited for someone that has a little more growth to clear.

These blades aren’t for me. First blade in a long time that left little blood spots on my neck and didn’t give a very close shave. Just goes to show how one blade works great for one person and not the next.

    :

While sharp enough to pretty easily hack through an extra day or two’s growth, these blades don’t give me a very close shave. I’m honestly a little baffled at that, as it seems contradictory. I found myself needing to do more than my usual number of passes on my legs and underarms which of course resulted in some razor burn (not too bad, but going from none to some is annoying). But on top of that I still have spots of prickliness where it seems 3 passes still didn’t get all of the hair. I’ve experimented with using them in two different heads (the V2 and V3) with not much improvement between them. Seems I’ll be going back to my Astra and Kai blades.

    :

im glad the other reviewers likes this, I hate these. Put them in a fat tip or a r41 and its like shaving with a butter knife. These shave my head fine, but at this price point, I was expecting feather or Kai or even crystal performance on my face, not Big Ben or treet performance, neither of which could cut a blade of grass.

Was so glad to see these added to the site. I immediately added to a sampler order as trying out blades for an entire year now, and while I may have some personal faves, Bolzano takes the #1 spot! Sure, pricey to bulk up a stash but well worth a splurge just to throw a pack in your cart. TRY THEM, out of 36 blades I have tested, an increadible treat for your shave.

Bolzano Blades are awesome! I received them today @ 12 noon after ordering them Friday with my new Maggard MR8 razor. That combo is awesome. Nothing like a heavy razor and super sharp and smooth blade. The products you carry along with your customer service is second to none! What an awesome company to do business with. This really says something when I received a surprise coming in the mail that was purchased and shipped on 3/27 and I only received it today. C’mon man? Maggard’s has everybody beat. Love the Bolzano Blades, the MR8 DE, and everything I have ever purchased from you guys. You’re setting the bar where it should be and are awesome to do business with. Thank You!
