    :

Castle Forbes shaving creams offer excellent performance with good ingredients. At this price point, I’d say this ought to be a given and it is. However, there are lots of great performing soaps and creams out there to choose from. Many of them perform just as well, with equally good ingredients and at a fraction of the price. So what makes 1445 so special?

For me, it’s mostly about the scent. 1445 smells absolutely incredible. Don’t get me wrong, if the performance and ingredients weren’t top notch, I wouldn’t pay for a tub of this stuff. It just smells so good in addition to performing at a top-tier level, that I rank it at number two out of my top five favorites out of hundreds. It’s a little hard to describe but I’d say it’s clean and fresh but very masculine. Nothing about it smells synthetic, generic or cheap. It’s a pretty unique scent that’s in a class of it’s own.

There are always exceptions but I find that in general, the performance of a shaving cream is usually less subjective than its scent. That is to say, it will usually work well for most people or it won’t but the way it smells is much more open to debate. Because this falls under the category of a luxury purchase, I would suggest taking advantage of Maggard’s samples and going for a trial run of either the 1445 shaving cream or the aftershave balm, which is also absolutely outstanding.
