Product Description

Our primary line of shaving soaps. A firmer soap built to provide the best shaving experience possible, and all without the use of any animal fats or byproducts. This is the new formula introduced in 2016.

“Le Piment de la Vie” or “The Spice of Life” is a very complex fragrance shaving soap. It is sweet and spicy and earthy and just all around amazing.

This is a 4oz pour in a 8oz jar so you will see that the jar is approximately half full. This is done intentionally to give room for the brush to load directly in the tub.

Additional Information

stearic acid, water, coconut oil, potassium hydroxide, shea butter, fragrance, sodium hydroxide, jojoba oil, sodium lactate, and glycerin

This is the best soap I have ever used and quickly became what I reach for when I need a quick shave with a consistent product that just works.

I have found it very easy to lather as this soap is extremely water tolerant to the point that i dropped the brush in the sink once and the lather was unaffected. The post shave is amazing and I often do not use aftershave when shaving at night as I do not feel the need.

Finally I highly recommend this product for someone moving to a more aggressive razor or blade as the protection is amazing and it is difficult to get the lather wrong. So if you are looking for a soap with an amazing base and a great range of scents Catie’s Bubbles is the perfect soap for the every day shave.

My first Catie’s Bubbles purchase. Initially, this scent did not appeal to me but something about it continued to bring my nose to the jar. Now I probably can not live without it. Overtime LPV grew on me to the point where I had to purchase a second jar and the spray. Give it a shot.

I don’t know how to nail down the description of the scent but there isn’t another soap I know of that smells like it. It’s very complex, spicy, fragrant, sweet, I find it as homely as bacon, coffee and fresh bread. The performance of this soap is excellent and lives up to the hype, this is exactly how a shaving soap should perform.

This is a not scent for everyone, but if you like a strong and unique scent this is a must buy in tour den… i´m not a scent expert. but i tink black peper, nutmeg, vanila, cinamon and maybe chocolate. i love this spyce sweet scent and recommend to everyone who like strong and unique scents to try it!

I saw some good reviews about this soap, but the scent makes me feel sick.
Not sweet or spicy – i think i will never try caties soaps again. Very disappointed.

The scent really is the really good, Fragrance 10/10 Very complex! He is sharp and sweet at the same time,
An intoxicating scent with notes of cinnamon, bergamot, nutmeg, vanilla and citrus fruits.
The LPV is very light, an amazingly thick yoghurt-like foam with a nice spicy smell and excellent gliding and care properties.
For me a “new” Caties of first class quality.

Super slick and easy to lather, Le Piment de la Vie Shaving Soap (a.k.a. LPV) is superb. The performance is second-to-none. I’m doing entire DE head shaves with this stuff and getting exceedingly close with absolute comfort.

The scent of this product is in a class of its own. Seriously, there could be a new name coined just for this soap. Place it right in-line with the classics: Barbershop, Bay Rum, Fougère, LPV, Sandalwood, Vetiver….

I can only describe the scent in physical terms. Imagine Hugh Hefner in his smoking jacket, being hugged, kissed, and caressed by a bevy of bunnies… Remove the jacket and hang it up in a warm, humid, closet for several days. Then, hang is outside in the fresh air for a couple of hours. Maybe this is how heaven smells?

But it’s more than just the scent; somehow the soap maker, Chris Cullen, has magically added a dollop of Hugh Hefner mojo essence to the soap! Sound far-fetched? Just shave with this stuff and you’ll know exactly what I mean. You feel like a player and heads turn.
