Product Description

This one is masculine. Like really, really masculine. Like a “take an old, beat up leather jacket, drape it over a couple of tires to make a table and clean your guns on it” kind of masculine. Dark, unrefined, and totally unresistible, this is a scent for those who don’t mind sticking out. Those who forge the paths. Those who are proud to be a man.

Scent is made of the following notes: Russian Leather, Motor Oil, Hoppes #9, Birch Tar, Oakmoss, Gasoline, Smoke, Cedar, Cade, Bergamont, Vanilla

Natural extracts and essential oils were used where possible, but some notes – such as Hoppes #9 and rubber are synthetic due to the nature of the scent.

    :

Kind of smells like new car smell. Really strong scent that lingers on you. Strong leather smell, hint of gasoline and smoke. It’s a really interesting scent that I would say isn’t for everyone but if you want a really rugged manly scent this is probably the one for you. It lathers really nicely and has a rich brown color to the soap. I was a little bit intrigued by this one definitely one of those scents that you come back too but not an everyday performer.

Excellent performer. Lather and slickness monster. Smell is different in tin than lathered. This scent is mainly that of grain leather or oiled, heavy duty Russia leather with a hint of birch tar and a dash of vanilla to alleviate the dark, heavy scent. And I can easily pick up the fresh, mouth-watering “Hoppe’s 9” flavour that reminds me of cleaning my assault gun after a visit at the shooting range. I love this soap and scent, I will buy it again and again. The strength of the scent is about 4 out of 5, not overpowering though.

This is a great soap, not only does it give a great shave, it smells fantastic. Still working my way through my first tub, and received a second for Christmas. So I am set for a while.

Its a special scent, it definitely need to get lathered before you make up your decision. Lather was great, thick and protective. Definitely good product, they have other scent so if this one not for you, others are worth the try!

I have a real love hate relationship with this soap. When I first smelt a sample, I thought it was absolutely atrocious. I even almost threw it away. I felt inclined to try it anyhow, because that would be a waste and if I were a soap maker, I would want consumers to try my products too. Needless to say, I mustered the courage and lathered it up for a Sunday night shave. To my surprise, I was amazed.

The scent really changes once you get it going with the water, and to me, it smells more like a strong dark coffee (not sweet) mixed with leather, and a tobacco scent. Some say smells like a mechanic working in his/her environment. While I don’t quite think of that when I smell it, I can see why they would think that. If you’re a little skeptical on this soap, do what I did and order the sample first. Again, the smell is something else, but give it a go. It’ll grow on you like it did for me.

Let’s start with the price at $13.75 for four ounces, that’s around $3.43 an ounce. For me that’s a good deal.
No let’s get into the scent. This is a no holds bared manly scent. I definitely smell the leather, motor oil, and the gasoline straight away. When I give it a few more sniffs I can pick up the smoke, and some of the other scents. For me this smells as if you left your dad’s favorite leather jacket out in an old barn over night while it rained. An old tractor parked in the same barn, that leaks oil, and gasoline helping to add, to what that leather jacket will smell like.
Think about, if a mechanic, and a railroad worker got off of work and went to a bar together to have a few beers, you would be very close to what this smells like.
This is not something you want to shave with before a first date, or to meet her parents. Use it when you are going out with your friends, for a ball game, or on a fishing trip, or to the shooting range, or race track.
The smell is in fact captivating. There is a foulness to it but, the birch, oakmoss and smoke help bring you back for a “maybe it’s not that bad” second smell.
It lathers well it is a bit of a “thirsty” soap, meaning it will need bit more water than a cream. If you have a decent brush you will be just fine.
Overall I would recommend this everyone, it’s not going to be for everyone but, for the hard working class man I believe you will enjoy this. Maybe some business executives will like this as well?
    Happy shaving.

Good stuff here , just a great shave and the scent may not be a everyday thing , but for sure it does hit the spot every now and again .. Top Shelf product . Not a fruit punch for sure . More like a leather or chainsaw oil ..

Do you want to smell like a man? Silly question, yes you do. This scent has a familiar leather smell to it. Not overpowering, like that of a good baseball glove. It lathers well. overall, I am extremely pleased with this product.
