Product Description

There’s a reason almonds have exploded in popularity.

Not only is the almond good food, the scent you may know from “amaretto” is darn near the perfect balance between semi-sweet and savory.

The terms subtle and sophisticated come to mind.

Combined with tried and true glycerin to promote a sure glide for your razor, our Almond Shave Soap delivers an enviably rich and thick lather thanks to the added avocado and vitamin-e.

It’s a smooth glide that moisturizes.

For you technically minded guys, glycerin is a humactent. Humactents attract water to the skin

It’s also hygroscopic. That means it absorbs water from the air.

So, to put it simply: you’re moisturizing while you’re shaving with Col Conk’s Almond Shave Soap.

Start with our Pre-Shave Oil to lay down a layer to set up your whiskers.

2.25 oz. round soap puck in a plastic clamshell.

Great take on a bay rum IMO. Col Conk is a great glycerine soap. It doesn’t have the richness of a tallow soap, but it’s still a great slick lather.

Soap does not work that well but if smells nice. Ok for the price. Do not use this soap if you are a newbie.

This product has a potent almond scent and excellent protection. It is quite tricky to get to lather; load for a very long time with a relatively dry brush and then face (or bowl) lather while slowly adding water to reach the right consistency. The glycerin makes this soap feel incredibly slick on the face so even without the classic thick lather we all dream about it still does the job. (I have read some people use Conk soaps for pre shave face wash due to the excellent moisturizing and subpar latherability). It has excellent post-shave moisturizing and smoothness.

Due to the lathering challenge I would not recommend this for beginners. My wife loves it for shaving her legs due to the moisturizing effect and the fact that she loves the scent. 🙂 The large sized Col. Conk pucks seem to fit perfectly in empty Taylor of Old Bond Street cream tubs, and can be carefully melted down with a microwave to fit any container of convenience.

It foams well and smells nice, however it does not seem to protect your face very much.

While not the best soap overall it’s value is great for the price. It lathers well and smells great. At this price you can’t go wrong with trying it!
