You get what you pay for. In my opinion, Col Conk doesn’t produce a quality Bay Rum scent (or shave soap for that matter). I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m not saying your only other option is purchasing an expensive “top shelf” soap. But spending just a few more dollars on a quality artisan soap will make a world of difference.

Good strong lather, not a thirsty soap. The scent left a lot to be desired, and the slickness was far below other soaps sold here. However, very good price and a good lather makes for a great value. I had the protection I needed.

It is better than the Colgate and Williams soaps I started out with 44 years ago. However, this is a case where you get what you pay for. The lather is on the thin side. Fairly slick. Not much scent. Let’s give it a solid C+ grade.

For the price, this soap performs well, but there are other products available that perform better for only a bit more.

The scent is pleasant, but not like most other Bay Rum’s out there. This smells sweeter and does not smell too strong on the brush or face.

Lather is adequate and is much preferred with soft water or use with distilled water. At home I have hard water, so it takes some extra prep and work to get a decent lather going.

Bottom line is if you’re in a pinch and need a cheap shave soap that works, this absolutely fits the bill, but if you can afford a few more dollars, there are better performers out there.

This product is NOT cheap. It may be inexpensive, but for the cost its easy to whip you get worlds of lather, good lubrication, and a pleasant scent. Highly recommended for a go to soap .

Good cheap soap, with a pleasant scent. Doesn’t perform as well as some other products but you expect that for the price.

The scent is very pleasant, but not nearly strong enough for my taste. A great soap for beginners because it is so cheap. Even with all of my soaps and creams that cost five times what this does, I still use the colonel about once every other week

Scent is not as strong as I would hope, but still present. I mainly use it for a pre wash soap and it does what it needs to.
