    :

Purchased as airplane carry-on permissible alternative to my preferred safety razor. I am unable to get a clean shave without painful and unsightly razor burn with the more widely-available multi-blade cartridge razors, and the few other single-blade alternatives (e.g., Bic yellow and white single-blade razors or generic store-brand equivalents) give me very poor and generally inconsistent shaves. Obviously this razor isn’t going to perform like my Muhle or Rockwell razor with a Feather blade in it, but I find this much more comfortable and effective than any other disposable or cartridge razor than I have been able to find. Also, I have to admit, I kind of like having a pivoting head on a single-blade razor – haven’t encountered this combination anywhere else, and I like it. I’d give this 5 stars as a substitute for a safety razor suitable for airplane carry-on, and still at least 3 stars and maybe 4 as a general use razor.

Average shave. Probably best for taking on trips. Would not buy for everyday shaver.

Wow, I see Maggard has these cheaper than another site I order these from. I’m going to have to order these here from now on.
Now, that said, I use this mostly to head shave. The open comb and wide gap makes it impossible to clog. I shave my head once or twice a week. These were developed in India because Indian men’s beard are very thick, that plus most villagers don’t have running water in the house so they sit on the floor with a bowl of water and a mirror. They can rinse the blade in the cup of water. No need for a faucet. I do this sometimes while watching TV, LOL.
Ido shave my face with it occassionaly to give my face a break from DE shaving. Its somewhat mild but very efficient.
So you guys out there need the best razor for head shaving this one is it!!

Brilliant piece of gear. During three weeks of international and domestic travel, no issues at security screenings. I was able to get 6 good shaves from each cartridge.

I would recommend using a Dopp kit or a hard-sided case for storage, as the cartridge heads often popped off due to contact with other items in my toiletries bag. Fortunately, the nubs that hold the cartridge heads weren’t damaged, but they aren’t very substantial.

Better still, carry two handles, since the price is right.

I travel a lot, with no checked bags. So proper DE blades are off limits. This is now part of my TSA-friendly travel kit, along with a shave stick, synth brush, and alum block. It’s the closest thing I’ve found to a real razor. Single edge, open comb, no goo strips. And it’s super cheap.

Even if it weren’t so cheap, I’d still prefer it over my old travel cart setup (Mach 3). Even my wife has converted to the Guard.

I was going on vacation so I bought this on a after seeing a Mantic59 video recommend it. I like using single edge blades, but don’t want to lose any of my vintage Schick or Gem razors. Anyway the price is right. I used it three days in a row and got damn near a bbs shave each time. Then I took a few days off from shaving (I was on vacation after all) and the razor took care of my two day growth with ease. I continue to use it to see how long the blade will last, I’m figuring I’ll get 8 good shaves. It is made of plastic, thus it is very light and I found the pivoting head took a little getting used to. The unique designed head (plastic combs and ample blade gap) did not clog. Over all this is a very good razor and its low price makes it an even better value. I bought the three pack of replacement heads since I figured I would be using this razor in the future. I’m glad I did.
