Karve Shaving Co. Christopher Bradley Brass DE Safety Razor

2 reviews From 85.01
$0.00 $0.00

The Christopher Bradley razor is a classic double edge safety razor that will provide a smooth shave and years of service. All aspects of manufacture are meticulously controlled to provide consistent performance and clean aesthetics.

Most notably, the handle is decorated with a pattern that is inspired by the centuries-old Guilloche technique commonly used in watch making. The pattern is cut into the body of the handle, instead of formed, which ensures that all of the edges of the pattern are smooth and clean, while still providing plenty of friction for wet fingers.

There are several different base plates available please see pictures for the chart describing the different level base plates.

The entire razor is constructed from solid brass and is bead blasted for a subtle matte finish. As is the case with all non-coated brass items, a patina will form over time and the surfaces will darken.

The razor is complete and only requires a blade to be ready to use.

All handles employ a #10-32 thread.

If I could only have one...

I had the Merkur Progress. For me, the Karve SB-D and SB-E plates are smoother than Merkur. Efficiency and comfort are higher as well. Excellent machining however and very well designed. Lot of luxury razors are priced outside of my pain threshold, so Karve gets the edge on artistic value. I am with Karve all the way.

I haven't bought it from here but would like to share my thoughts with possible buyers: 1. built quality: second to none! very tight tolerance, supreme finish, no flaws, just as good of a brass machined product as it gets. 2. aggressiveness: I got D and solid bar, it is somehow aggressive, less than muhle R41, more than Edwin Jagger 89. 3. patina: yes, patina! it ages to a beautiful patina look, which is way better looking, IMO, that any coating. overall, I'm very happy with it, and would recommend for anyone who is looking for their 3rd or 5th or 11th razor! I think it is not a good starting point, not because it is not good, but actually because it is too good! you better have a couple of razors already, to appreciate the craftsmanship of this one IMO.
