Product Description

Bespoke #1, is a very complex yet earthy scent that is very fitting for the winter season. The ingredients for this scent include:

  • Vetiver Essential Oil
  • Ancient Fossilized Himalayan Amber Oil
  • Frankincense Essential Oil
  • Opopanax (Sweet Myrrh)
  • Clove Essential Oil
  • Pepper Essential Oil
  • Bergamot Essential Oil
  • Patchouli Essential Oil
  • Cedar Essential Oil
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Anise Extract
  • Labdanum Absolute

This is a very earthy scent, with a vetiver base augmented by amber, frankincense, sweet myrrh, pepper, clove, and cedar. If you’re one of those who treats shaving as a ritual, this soap (which includes components that have been used in incense and fragrance for millennia), should complement that nicely.

Please note that this is our new French red clay base, which provides excellent slickness and post-shave that rivals any tallow soap while remaining true to our vegan roots.  This base needs a little less water than a lot of other soaps on the market, so load using a damp brush then add water to the point where a thick creamy slick lather is achieved.

Ingredients: Stearic Acid, Palm Kernel Oil, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Water, Aloe Vera Juice, Essential Oils (Vetiver Essential Oil, Himalayan Amber Oil (in Sunflower Oil), Frankincense Essential Oil, Opopanax (Sweet Myrrh) Essential Oil, Clove Essential Oil, Pepper Essential Oil, Bergamot Essential Oil, Patchouli Essential Oil, Cedar Essential Oil, Vanilla Extract, Anise Extract, Labdanum Absolute (in Sunflower Oil)).  , French Red Clay, Sodium Lactate, Allantoin (comfrey plant).

Each tub contains at least 4 oz of shaving soap in an 8oz container

The performance is ok but I was quite disappointed with the scent. They could have just called it “Clove” and be done with it.

Excellent soap !!! One of the best vegan soaps. Continuing in my rotation.

I got the original suggestion for this soap from a Redditor on /r/shaving and looked at a YouTube review that had nothing but good things to say. As a quintessential Northern Californian, I decided to shell out the cash for the flagship soap from a company based in the Southern capital (Los Angeles) of my beloved state.

I know now for sure I will be happy with this purchase for years to come. I only shave every two to three days with my MR7 safety razor and Parker WHBB black badger ivory-handle brush, and I already know from the density of this soap that it will last me for at least a decade. It lathers up very quickly in a bowl even from just a very short 5-10-second slap across the puck, and it works into a very balanced lather with equal parts foamy and meringue-y consistency due to its ability to hold water well (but not too well)

I don’t want to get too ahead of myself when it comes to the smell, but it’s as manly as manly can be. Sure all the countless natural incenses that went into this cocktail of a soap make it what it is as a whole, but who can argue with brushing 35-million-year-old amber oil onto their face every single morning, if not to remind themselves of the very basest nature of life and time themselves, and how all that has existed and will ever exist play such a substantial role in our daily lives?

Look maybe I got a little ahead of myself, but if you’re a serious wet shaver, and you want a soap that’s worth every penny and more, and that you’ll never regret shelling out $30 for, this is most definitely the soap for you.

I am new to straight razor shaving, so I do not have much experience with any of this but from the soap I was using to this one(was using pucks from classic shaving) I would recommend this to anyone that can handle the cost. It loads great(for me) smells great(relaxing) and preforms much better than the other I was using. I just think it is a great soap(for me).

I love this soap – great quality and a complex, dark scent. Clearly this is not one that will appeal to the unadventurous, however, if you’re willing to step out of the traditional barber shop scents, this one is great. I rank it up there with B&M Leviathan, Cyril Salter Vetivier for darkness, complexity and just downright great.
