    :

A good shave soap in our water (mostly surface). Hardly ever leaves my Dopp kit and is my reliable travel soap.

My first and solely soap for the last two decades, as I started in whet-shaving with it as it was the soap my father use too. It is a bargain in terms of what you pay and what you get (specially in Spain, but also elsewhere). Great performer, and last a lot. It has a very nice scent that welcome almost any splash I have tried, it is not so strong to interfere. Now I am using a wider array of soaps, but I still need to have a stick of La Toja close to me, because of its size and the container, it is perfect for travelling

it was very easy to lather, provided a decent shave over all. However two things of note.

    1. I always seemed to bleed longer, and heavier any time I cut myself while using this product. Some on the forums said due to the mineral salts in it.

    2. once I broke through the outer 1/4 inch layer of soap, the scent turned to a bizarre ammonia stench I could not tolerate.

I own a wide range of great shave sticks, Speick, Palmolive, DR harris (all 6), TOBS, Valobra and Tabac. This La Toja is no slouch. In fact it’s so good, it’s not even funny. You think this must be an average soaps, when you look at the presentation right ? Let me tell you, it’s another TOP NOTCH fantastic shaving soap stick. 5/5 stars, not even a chance I would rate this lower than that.

This is my preferred shave stick. First off, the container is sturdy enough you can travel with it without issue. But this soap performs incredibly well. A quick wet of the tip and it applies to the face without irritation. Lather just jumps off your face as you swirl the brush. Given this soap contains clay, it takes a little more water than is obvious. The 3-dimensional lather pops up a little bit before optimal slickness, so pay attention to slickness as you add water.

I enjoy my travel shaves due to this soap. Try it!

This is one of those products that I put off trying for too long. I thought my “high end ” soaps were too good to have this $5 stick in my shave cabinet. All I can say is…damn this soap is good. I’m a head shaver and I like to load a big brush once, do three passes on my face two passes on my head with touch ups and be done.
La Toja is amazing , I can rub some on my face, wet my brush and boom lather galore. I still have enough in the brush for a head shave afterwords.
Scent is perfect not too strong and doesn’t linger. Post shave is very nice, moist but not greasy. I can see this being in my winter rotation, with Tabac and MWF and CRSW and Haslinger .
