Product Description

Alcohol-based aftershave is finally here! I aimed to create the least-drying alcohol formula possible while still retaining some of the alcohol burn. The burn is quickly soothed by witch hazel, aloe, my signature botanical blend, and light menthol. I also added a few extra skin-conditioning ingredients to keep your skin looking and feeling great all day – without excessive drying. Please shake very well before use.

After the Rain is like a walk through a forest after a spring shower with notes of wet pine, muted lavender, cedar, and white pepper.

    :

I have the After the Rain soap, which, while I don’t think it captures an “after the rain” scent at all, is quite nice regardless, and performance is top notch. I thought I’d get the aftershave too since I liked the scent so much, and it also gave me a chance to try one of his aftershaves.

The aftershave liquid itself is nice and soothing, while having just the right amount of alcohol for that necessary “sting.” It is alcohol-based, but the alcohol is down a bit in the ingredients list just FYI.

Problem is, it’s quite a bit mentholated – almost as much as Stirling’s Margaritas in the Arctic. The amount of menthol in this is just too much for the scent profile of this thing – the menthol gave the scent a medicinal, minty smell that the soap doesn’t have. I wish I liked this more, but I think the next time I shave with the After the Rain soap, I’m going to finish it off with Captain’s Choice Bay Rum instead, which is in the same broad “warm scent” category and has no menthol.
