Product Description

“Bandwagon” is my tongue-in-cheek addition to the barbershop (inspired) genre. It is heavily based on my memories of going to my grandfather’s barber, Guy, to get my signature bowl cut. He would always finish the cut with talcum powder and a splash of aftershave behind my ears. This scent is my attempt to relive those memories.

The scent is a classic powdery-musk and sandalwood base bolstered by lavender, camphor, coumarin, tarragon, and a touch of anise with a bergamot top.

I decided to keep this scent lighter than some of my other more strongly-scented offerings. Like those classic fragrances from my grandfather’s barbershop, Bandwagon is designed not to interfere with your fragrance choice for the day.

Please note: The initial smell off the puck is significantly different than the full fragrance once lathered. Please do not judge the soap based on the dry smell, as my soap base heavily mutes the mid and top notes, leaving a mostly musky smell. This scent is normal and transforms into its final form once lathered.

In my opinion slightly better performance than B&M’s regular line and on par with their Latha line (yes, I know Latha is their budget option but I think it works better).

This is a very balanced barbershop scent. It’s powderiness is about a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10, with Stirling’s barbershop scent being a 32. I would prefer even a little less powder, but I don’t mind it during actual use.

This is one of the best soaps I have ever used. The truth is that nowadays there are available many top notch soaps. The difference in this formula, at least for me, is the post shave feel. Even the next day, I have a really soft face. But still, many soaps do that. But, I have a fairly oily skin. This soap, is the only one that makes my skin soft and hydrated without the stickiness I got from others-still great – top soaps. As far as the scent is concerned , it is a classic barbershop, maybe in the more musky, powdery side. Nothing wrong with that. I love the smell. Once lathered, it gets a little bit more complex, but is not the most complex barbershop you will find. As always, when you love the smell, you wish it would have been more powerful. Maybe it is 3-4 out of 10. Beware, this is a softer soap. Do not overload to urge brush, or you will have to add much water.

This is an excellent soap. Since I picked it up it has become my favorite. The scent is perfectly understated and classic. Bowl lather develops over about 45 seconds. The scent appears with lather development which I think is really cool. Sniffing the puck doesn’t do it justice. Get this one.

Scott’s one of my two revered artisans. His soap work, lovely scent collection, and absolutely amazing soap performance, places him in my #1 tier along with Will (B&M).

I only became aware of L&L Grooming about a month ago, and have purchased all of Scott’s current line of soaps and aftershaves.

This soap Base by far is my absolute favorite, and provides the best protection and slickness for me.

Eagerly awaiting Scott’s next releases, and my best wishes with the new location/shop.

I for one, will be a life long L&L patron.

Long to talk about him there is no sense, moisturizing, foam, slip – all at the highest level. My verdict is that the soap is very worthy and remains in the rotation.
