Rarely do I leave reviews, but this brush demands it. I’ve used badgers since I started wet shaving and this was my first synthetic brush. All I can say is, this thing is incredible! What a fantastic brush! Lathers up well, for me the size is perfect. I take it when I travel and it dries quickly. If you don’t have one, grab one!!!

I bought this in September 2018 and have been using it for about two months, or ~45 shaves.

It’s great. Awesome value, very soft, and has only shed literally 2 hairs since I’ve used it. It still looks brand new! I think it’s the perfect beginner brush, I can’t imagine what would make me want to upgrade from it.

I really enjoy this brush, it is a great value and I highly recommend it for those wanting to add a synthetic to their arsenal. If you are bowl or face lathering a cream you will get your best performance. But you may find, as I did, that this brush takes forever to form a good lather with a harder soap.

Great brush, worth the price hands down.

I only rated it as 4 stars becouse of the handle. This handle only works if you hav a BIG hand/palm, otherwise it is not convenient to hold.
I still prefer my Muhle Silvertip Fibre, it makes better lather but no regret of buying this brush at all.

Shipping to Europe was VERY fast, received it in 10 days of payment made.

    Thank you Maggard Razors !

    PERFECTION!!!! (Well pretty close)

I love this damn brush. I mean it is the same awesome synthetic knot that most are using, so it works amazingly well…BUT what sets it apart for me is the size. I originally bought it as a travel brush, but after receiving I find myself using it quite a bit because of the size. It is absolutely PERFECT to load EASILY in these plastic tubs all the artisans use for there soaps. I mean you can run this thing in circles I side that container and it just loads up, and fits like a glove. Then when you apply to your face it is still very efficient. I LOVE THIS.

The only caveat is the handle…I may not have ever found another handle shape I hate more. Ugh

This brush is working well for me . . . . . . and prefer using it to an Omega boar bristle and a Culmak badger bristle brush

A very pleasant synthetic brush — soft, holds plenty of lather, easy to clean, dries quickly. All this at an unbeatable price. If you have never tried a synthetic brush, you may find them a very pleasant surprise. Maggard’s service is always excellent.

An amazing brush at an amazing price! I am a bowl lather guy and this thing has backbone galore. I use this with all my cream soaps, Proraso, Nivea, etc and it quickly creates a full thick lather and is so soft when applied to my face. I think I have seen only 2 hairs come out in 2 months! The new synthetics are giving the badgers a run for their money! I had a VDH badger I liked but after 2 fell apart I went for this instead. If you’re on a budget, this brush is a no brainer. BTW, I’m fairly new to Maggard’s and their inventory, prices and customer service can’t be beat. I will consider them first for all my future shaving supplies! I love their story and business model. Kudos!!!!!!!!!

For myself this is the perfect brush. I mainly face lather and this brush is soft but still has plenty of backbone for face or bowl lathering. Holds plenty of lather for three passes easily. Terrific brush. Another great product from Maggard Razors!!

Awesome brush! This brush is excellently constructed and it is so soft. Good stuff from Maggard as usual.

Best brush I’ve ever used. Some may think that because it’s not “real” that it’s not good. This synthetic is better than the finest brush I’ve used. Don’t assume that an inexpensive synthetic brush isn’t good – that would be a BIG mistake. Buy one, you won’t be disappointed.

I purchase the 22mm and the 24mm Maggard’s Synthetic shave brush over 4weeks ago and I prefer the 22mm brush. The 22 is a pretty big brush. It’s a bit bigger than your average brush from the drugstore. I have purchased quite a few brushes all under ten dollars from local stores to imports looking for a good brush supplier at a fair price. I have also purchased badger, boar and horse hair knots directly from China. This is the best brush by far and it does not smell or shed after the first use. The brush has a little more spring than a limp Badger brush and is way softer than boars hair. Love it, very happy with this brush. I may not know what a $150 brush feels feels like and I’m not going to spend that kind of money to find out. I would certainly say that all most anyone would be happy purchasing this brush.

I was blown away by the performance of this brush. Synthetic brushes have come a long way and this is a perfect example of a wonderful brush.

I bought the small one, too. Not so big that it’s sloppy-messy-drippy; not so small that I need multiple strokes to cover my face. Holds the right amount of water and has enough backbone to handle fat-based soaps. Cleans up nicely and dries quickly. Best part is that it cost a fraction of my other synthetic brush. At the price, anyone can afford to take the risk of trying a synthetic brush.

Love this brush! After 4 weeks of use, it has kept its shape, has not lost a single bristle and consistently produces a great lather and holds it well. I will admit it took me a good week to get the hang of water retention in the brush. To much water and it drips all over the place. I face lather and do not use a bowl. I have found that if you gently sling the water out of the brush as you rotate it the brush is wet enough to bet the shaving cream going. Adding water to the tip of the brush two or three times as you build the lather generates enough for a good three passes with touch ups. Using this method I can stand the brush on its handle and the shaving cream will not drip down. Clean up is easy and it dries quickly. Besides, it looks great sitting on my sink in my Edwin Jagger brush stand.

For the price and performance, I highly recommend this brush for both beginners and experienced users.

I started with a boar brush and Colgate soap. And while I sometimes strayed, I am still a boar guy. IMO a Semogue boar is the benchmark. But for travel, particularly, boar is a poor choice. Enter the Maggard synthetic brush. At ten dollars this is a steal! Buy one for travel, buy one for your brother or uncle. Deal!

Why can I not rate this as a seven star???!!! I’ve been using this for three weeks. It is GREAT!! I bought it as travel brush, as synthetic brushes are supposed to dry quickly. I used it to see how it did. I’ve been using a EJ best badger for a couple of years. I think this brush is softer, better, stronger, faster. It makes a MUCH better lather, much faster.
This is my new daily brush.

So, to the point. Order NOW!!!!

Excellent brush. I won’t be going back to my cheap badger brush because this synthetic puts it to shame in every way. Makes me think badger is really overrated. I’ll admit I haven’t tried any grade above pure, but given the performance of this synthetic brush, I see no reason to. I will still use my Omega boar brush once or twice a week because I really like that brush too, but the badger has just seen its last shave. The tips are super soft on my face, but it also has a pretty good backbone to it. And the lather it makes is incredible. I struggled at times to make good, long lasting lather with my badger brush. Not so with this brush. Even the cheaper soaps I have lather right up with no problem, and finally I can make enough lather for two passes without having to reload several times like with my badger. If I were to recommend a good brush for a beginner, this would be it. And it’s quite a deal at only $10. Thank you Maggard for another fine product! Your soap is awesome too. Now I will have to try your pre shave oil and your aftershave as well.
