Stainless Steel DE Razor Handle

52 in stock

Product Description

The MR8 was the first Stainless Steel handle razor that Maggard Razors released in August, 2014.   An ultra-heavyweight, this razor handle weighs in at a whopping 148g

Handle Length: 91mm
Handle Diameter: 18mm
Handle diameter @ threading:  11.2mm

The finish of the MR8 is a satin matte stainless steel.  It won’t flake or chip like Chrome could over the years. There is no head included with this product.

The knurling is more accurate and defined than our brass handles.

Handle Compatibility:
The MR8 fits most Double edge razor heads that have flat spots at least 11.2mm wide.  A few heads (Weber, Gillette NEW) have smaller areas available for flush mounting a handle    Please keep this in mind when purchasing this item.

As a final thought – Try not to compare this razor to your $150 IKON when you receive it.  Shave with it, enjoy it, and remember, this is a budget razor that probably cost less than you spent on lunch last Tuesday.  It is cheap enough to buy one for all of your friends and help expand our community.  This is the reason we’ve made these available and the reason for their great success!

The hefty chunk of stainless steel gifts you less resistance and altogether a smoother shaving experience. Excellent results with V3 and Yaqi Mellon so far. Thanks again for the fast and cheap int shipping despite these whacky times. Stay Healthy.

This is an update to my previous review. I have this mated to a Muhle R41 head. I know it sounds like a scary combo but it’s not. This actually REDUCES the number of weepers/cuts I was getting. Damn good shaver.

At first I was a little worried about the weight like some of the other reviews.but it’s not a problem. Quite the contrary. I have it mated to a Muhle R41 head, it’s my new daily driver now.

So I was very skeptical at first to go this heavy. I have been “Wet Shaving” for about a year now and have used a DE almost since the beginning with a small time frame dedicated to learning a straight. Took to long and had not the patience for the learning curve. I bought a cheapo DE model from Walgreen and I haven’t looked back.

When I opened the package I was impressed before it rolled out of the newspaper wrapping. Thing is heavy. Combined with the V3 Head I am blown away by the shave it gave me. A slight learning curve compared to my old razor was needed. Nicked myself a few times as even the V3 is more aggressive than my old one. I did also get the V3A Head which I am kinda scared to use. LOL. If you want heavy and solid, look any further. This is burly and will never slip due to the deep knurled handle.

This beast was specifically bought to be paired with the Muhle R41 as the most aggressive razor on the planet. Folks, let your beard grow over the weekend. Your beard has ZERO chance. No ingrowns. Well worth the money. Newbies, give up on that 34C sooner rather than later! You can own this, work this, and love your shave!
There is no way you can apply too much pressure with this head—unless you absolutely try to—and you will know quite quickly.
In fact, the weight on this handle should improve your shave. New or old.
It’s called choking up, in baseball terms.
It is so heavy you have to drag it vs force it on your face.
For daily, I recommend the Parker 24C or the Merkur 39C.
But you could throw this beast on the Parker—IT FORCES YOU TO SHAVE BETTER.
On the Muhle R41 you could shave every other day.
Get some witch hazel and an AS balm/AS alcohol (winter/summer)

Extremely nice addition to my MR3 razor. This handle makes a even better shave experience with razor. Very pleased with handle length and weight . Exceptional quality and finish on this product.

This is an incredible handle. Yes, it is a beast in heft, but the difference it made for me in terms of not applying too much pressure and just letting the razor use its own weight was incrediable. This handle with a great soap, great blade and head, help to produce one of the best shaves I’ve ever had, and I used it for my face and head.Awesome.

This is a nice “beefy” handle. Fit and finish is excellent. The result is better control while shaving due to increased surface area on the grip of the handle. Highly recommended.

This handle is bad @$$. I bought the scratch and dent and i couldn’t find any noticeable defects.

I’ve shaved only three times using this beauty of a beast, and find it satisfying in every way. Don’t be modest about it–its quality, balance and weight compare with a handle of any price. It demands a light touch, but gives confidence because of the weight. More than any other handle I have used lately, it allows the razor to do the work. All I have to do is be the guide.

When I first saw photos of this handle, I thought it looked ridiculously big. Then I started reading rave reviews on the B&B forum, so I finally decided to buy one and give it a try. Hell, at that price, it didn’t matter if it turned out to be a mistake. I popped it onto my Above the Tie M2 head and had… a spectacular shave — even better than with any of the Above the Tie handles that I have, at a fraction of the cost! I have since tried it on all of my razor heads, and each one shaves better with the extra weight of this handle than with any other handle I own. So far, I have experienced zero compatibility issues, including with vintage Gillette News. Yesterday, my son tried it on his Parker 26c head, and he became an instant convert, too. This is an incredible handle at an incredible price. Buy one. Hell — buy one for every razor you own so you don’t have to keep swapping the handles out.

This handle is a BEAST! If you want something that can double as a fist pack, this is the handle for you. Super heavy duty, and solid, I was a little scared at first but it made my shave 100% better than the stock handle that came with my razor. Seems intimidating at first but feel very good in the hand and added some much needed weight to the razor. 10/10 would buy again.

This little, as in calling a Andre the Giant, tiny. This little clunker went on my Muhle R41, and after I get a few days growth, I’ll give it a, what I expect to be an amazingly great shave, run in a few. Did I dry run before I put a razor in it, and it felt perfect, like I had all the control I’ve been seeking. Can’t wait. Beautiful checkering creates a great grip, even with wet hands, and that stainless steel makes it a beast!

This handle is a beast. It is hefty and thick. The knurling is superior and ensures a controllable shave. And, the price makes this purchase sensible. I’ve paired this handle with a Muhle R41 razor head. The combination is outstanding and comprises my favorite DE razor. iKON? Why?

  17. 5 out of 5

I am trying to figure out why the description says not to compare it to iKON, because I have an iKON handle and this easily measures up. I showed it to my best friend, whose wife got him an iKON razor for his birthday, and he was actually mad that I got this handle for so little. The knurling is insanely aggressive, and the stainless steel is beautiful and HEAVY. I wasn’t prepared for how big of a difference a big heavy handle made to my shave, but it made a gigantic difference, and all for the better. One concern I had was that the thicker, heavier handle would be unwieldy, but it wasn’t in the slightest.

On unboxing, I was immediately impressed with the weight and size. This thing looks like it could survive a nuclear blast, be found in the wreckage by The Boy and The Man, and still give an awesome shave. Roam pairs well with a razor so manly.

The knurling has a lot more bite then the standard handles. I’m not afraid of this slipping out of soapy fingers.

The finish is awesome. It’s one hunk of stainless steel perfection.

The standard Maggard handles were substantial but this is in a different league. Just an awesome product.

Shave seemed easier, very responsive. No need for pressure at all, which bit me once at the neck because I was apparently still using slight pressure from muscle memory.

If you are thinking of buying one, drop the hammer without a second
thought. You’ll be glad you did.

Props to Brad and Casie. You guys hit it out of the park.
