Product Description

We’ve sourced a new head design that provides an extremely efficient shave with an incredibly mild feel.

These heads are designed similar to a vintage Gillette Tech in that there are not alignment pegs – the blade is aligned with corner notches in the top cap.

There is a substantial gap between the blade edge and the safety bar – -but, at the same time there is very little exposure.   This creates an extremely comfortable, efficient shaver that runs through multiple days growth with ease but is so comfortable you’ll barely feel the blade!

Standard M5 x 0.8 threading

Materials:  Zinc Alloy, Matte Silver

Warranty:  6 months from date of purchase

I really like the way this head goes together, with no alignment pegs but with the notched corners. It makes it very easy to install and remove the blade, and holds it perfectly. An added bonus with this design is that the blade does not protrude at all at the ends of the head, which people always mention in reviews as a good thing when you can find it.

As far as aggressiveness, I think that this head is pretty mild (which I want), but slightly more aggressive than an Edwin Jagger 89; milder than my Parker 91R.

I bought it together with the MR18 stainless steel handle and it is a perfect combination.

Not sure if my previous review can be edited or not…but here goes.
After a couple more days of toying around with my various new razors, Ive actually concluded that this $10 Marrard head with the $14 handle I bought to go with it, is actually better than the Rockwell 6s I paid nearly $100 for.
God I wish I were exaggerating or kidding at this point, but quite honestly the way the Maggard is designed it allows me to get a good shave regardless, while with the Rockwell Im having to continually swap the plates around to adjust it.
It seems to have something to do with the gap between the blade and the edge of the head, along with the blade angle, from what I can tell.
At this point Id have to give this maggard 5 stars and the Rockwell 4.5 stars, sadly enough.

Im new to DE shaving so my only experiences so far are with the Rockwell 6s, the Gillette Fatboy and the VanDerHagen Traditional razors. This Maggard head with the same Astra blade seems to do every bit as good as those other razors. It feels like a perfect balance of smooth and aggressive. Not a single nick, but shaved as well as those other razors. 5 stars.

I’ve tried all the heads Maggard has to offer and found this one works best with shaving my scalp and face, and not having to change heads out when moving from scalp to face. It isn’t too aggressive, it’s actually very mild. The only problem I have with it is the support bar in the middle of the comb causes clogging, I had to disassemble the head a couple of times to clear the hair.
