Product Description

The new tooth comb safety razor from MÜHLE – Edition in rosegold

The safety razor with an open tooth comb has been developed specially for practised wet shavers. Due to the principle of its construction, which features a special blade angle, the new model allows a vigorous, very direct shaving technique. As on safety razors with closed combs, the curved blade is exposed and clamped in place by the curvature of the cap. The open tooth comb and a gap behind the foam edge ensure that stubble and foam are transported away during the shave. This means that the edge is kept free of residues. All in all an innovative design which also makes subsequent cleaning easier.

The shaving result is dependent on the factors beard growth, the density and length of the beard hair, and how these interact with the blade and safety razor. Some will achieve optimal results with a Feather blade, while others can profit more from gentler blades such as Derby, Merkur or Personna. When shaving, the safety razor should at first be drawn across the skin without applying any pressure at all. Shaving with the grain is often sufficient and renders a second shave in the opposite direction unnecessary. The skin should be stretched taut at all times.

The new safety razor is predestined for men with a denser, stronger beard growth or for those prefer to sport three-day stubble. The model variants include handles made of white and black high-grade resin and/or with chrome-plated chasing.

    :

Appearance: This thing is gorgeous, well made and appears to be built to last. On appearance an build quality, it’s a step below ATT. bit it’s darn close. Rose gold is a nice color change from the standard stainless steel colors a majority of safety razors come in .

Performance: If you have been wet shaving for a period of time, this is not a razor to fear, but it is aggressive. It comparing it to my Fat tip piccolo I say they are very close in aggressiveness, but the R41 is built much better, looks better, and has a handle that is more suited to shaving with an aggressive razor (I find the FTTP handle to skinny and short). However, a FTP is 1/3 the cost. If you are looking for an aggressive razor and are purchasing your first, perhaps a FTP is the way to go since they shave very similarly and the FTP is much cheaper. That way if you dislike the aggressive nature of these razors or they don’t agree with your skin, you aren’t out much at all.

Handle: Looks gorgeous, but it tad light for my taste. The head can be used in a variety of heavier handles you may have in your den so if you dislike the handle this comes with, you can easily swap it for you already one.

Overall I really like this razor. It’s aggressive, yet doesn’t irritate my neck which, a lot of razors do. You wouldn’t want to use this razor if you were in a rush or hung over, but I’m planning on reducing the number of razors in my den shortly, because they just aren’t getting used now that I have the R41…..
