Product Description

We started with the idea of french markets lined with stalls of flowers, coffee, fruits and other products. Fields of lavender in bloom outside of the town and a powdery faced noble watching over. Monarch is a powdery lavender with top notes of cognac, face powder and coffee. Heart notes provide the bouquet of lavender, neroli, hyacinth and supporting base notes of sandalwood and vanilla. Feel like the royalty you are, powdery face and all with Monarch.
Notes:
Lavender, Face Powder, Cognac, Coffee, Orange, Neroli, Hyacinth, Sandalwood, Vanilla

This soap smells fantastic, and lathers great, what more can you want? Now is scent subjective, but as i experience it, it is a dry powdery scent, i have a problem with lavender, as i hardly smell it, but here i do, and lots of other notes, its very complex! It also stays with you for quite some time, if you keep off the Aftershave. I guess it is one of those love it/hate it scents, a bit like Varen by Stirling (yeah i also love that one!).

  2. 5 out of 5

    :

This is essentially a complex lavender soap which I would rate as a QUALIFIED five stars.
The lather is extremely dense and slick, and leaves an outstanding face-feel. The base seems to yield a creamier lather than the earlier Flying Hide, although I find that both give an excellent shave, particularly in view of the price.
My problem is that the initial scent I pick up is grape soda pop–the kind you used to drink as a kid. If you really take a minute and evaluate the scent, you’ll note elements of citrus as well as a very earthy lavender, perhaps a bit of cognac. But if you take it on its face, you may not give this soap its due credit..
Scent is so subjective, I can’t really knock a product unless the scent is offensive (which it isn’t). But I would give a caveat to sample before purchase.
