I like this razor better than the popular Merkur 34C. The TTO is more convient and it delivers a really mild shave . The blade angle / blade gap is excellent and I find I can shave rather quickly and without thinking too much about what I am doing because the razor is very forgiving. It reminds me of the old Gillette Fatboy in weight and handle length although this razor is now adjustable. Well constructed for such a cheap razor. I now use this one exclusively and I have my Gillette Fatboy on the shelf along with an old 1950s Kodak SLR camera and Bell and Howell 8mm movie camera. Why ? I can occasionally look at my living room display and think fondly of my late father.

The 87r is basically a modern version of a Gillette Red tip Superspeed. It’s a hefty razor with a larger blade gap than most TTO razors. I was surprised at how nicely the 87r is made with a sturdy construction and beautiful knurling on the handle. The shave I find fairly aggressive and requires a light touch on my neck. The end result is a close shave with minimal stubble after 2 passes. I have sensitive skin so I imagine someone who doesn’t finding the shave a bit more comfortable. Overall it’s a nice razor and a good value.

I’m surprised there are only 2 reviews for this great razor. I shaved with this using a fresh Lord razor blade and got a fantastic 2 pass shave. Solid, heavy, well built razor. Parker has made great strides in their quality control, my razor has no flaws which I could observe. A very nice razor for under $30, should last for many years. I’m delighted with my purchase. Thanks as always to Maggards for the fast shipping and great selection of products.

The 87R excited me because it looks similar to an Aristocrat. I’ve shaved with it a couple of times and it’s very smooth. I think the low blade gap and blade exposure helps. The razor is very shiny and balanced. It’s heavier than the Maggard’s stainless handle, but feels slightly lighter. I did see a little pitting on the neck and bottom of the handle. The bottom of the TTO mechanism is bent a little, but the safety bar is straight. The GSB blade sits right. Overall, I’m happy with my new haul.

Small flaws with the razor are the TTO may loosen. But this hasn’t happened frequently. If you are considering this razor know that it’s not an aggressive razor. Getting a BBS may be YMMV.

Just bought this razor today from Maggards. Got home and shaved with it. Its a mild shaver, but its good for those with sensitive skin or if your in a rush before you need to go. After I loaded a blade I noticed it was not quite centered in the head. Well that was ok, when I shaved with it I could not tell at all. This will be my quick shaver from now on. If I rated the shave from 1 to 10, 10 being best, it would be a 8, as a quick shaver. Its worth every penny it costs. The chrome is great and it twists good. All it might need would be a lil oil, mineral oil, So its safe for your skin. If your reading this your thinkin about it, so just buy it. Like I said its worth every cent.
