It does work

I was given one (19mm pure badger) as a Christmas present a couple years ago. It does produce lather, but it always includes some dish soap bubbles in the lather. I also found that soaking it for any length of time made the brush soft and floppy. So I did the 15-20 second soak. I bought a Tuxedo 24mm as a travel brush. I didn't want to deal with trying to dry fur while on trips. A couple tries, and I realized the tuxedo made better lather and could generate soft peaks and was roughly at the same price point. It does work but I don't think it's the best value for the money.

This is an update; after several more weeks of use the brush has softened nicely. It has lost no more than 3 or 4 hairs. Absolute delight, bargain price. But the first couple weeks are not so enjoyable. So, be patient. Great badger brush!

It is pure; do not confuse it with silvertip. If "Hurt So Good" is your favorite song, this is your brush. It does soften a bit with use. Out of the box it smells like roadkill, but shampoo and conditioner can cure that. Handle is about 50 mm and loft about 40. Can handle hard pucks with ease. Simpson quality. If you like em small, give this one a look.

Very Nice brush. Shed a lot of hairs for quite a few shaves but it finally stopped loosing hairs and the scritchiness that what felt at the beginning is gone with those hairs, leaving me with a soft, yet firm brush. Love the small knot, easy to control without putting lather all over the place. Despite it's small size, it can easely hold enough lather for 3+ passes. I recommand it , great bang for your bucks. Great quality,
