Product Description

Soap Commander Vegan Based Shaving Soaps provide rich, thick, and creamy lather that both moisturize and protect for close and comfortable shave experience…even against the grain. Our Shea Butter enriched shaving soaps are specially formulated to assist your razor in protection and glide to effortless cut through the thickest of hair.

This one’s been a long time coming. It’s a culmination of over a year of testing, trying to find a Barbershop blend that we’re happy with. And finally…success! Our traditional style barbershop includes a mix of Bergamot, Orange, Basil leaf, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Aromatic spices, and hint of honey and tobacco.

Special thanks to James Lansdale for his assistance in helping us craft this scent

Directions for Use: Load soap by swirling a slightly damp shaving brush in a circular motion over the surface of the soap. Build lather by adding drops of water to the brush and then to face or bowl. Discontinue use if any irritation occurs.

It’s a great vegan soap. It smells great as well. It’s priced right. It’s made lovingly by two honorable Americans who actually care, all right here in the U.S.A. This isn’t basement concoction stuff like so many so-called “artisans” make. This is a professional product sold by professionals.

The performance of soap commander is great. All soaps are different. This one needs a smidge more water and time than Tabac does. Make sure you bloom the soap (and drain it when ready to load) and have a soaked wet brush gently squeezed before you try to load it. Load it for 30-45 seconds or until you have a nice brush full of pasty soap. Once your brush is loaded, face or bowl-lather it adding a little water occasionally to get it to explode. Takes me about a minute or so, pretty fast but not as fast as Tabac. Then shave with it. Not rocket science.

SC scents are always very well presented. Honor is a great scent. I’ll be honest when I say I was not crazy about the scent of it at first, it felt misrepresented as “Barbershop” although Barbershop is an elusive moniker though, pretty much all Fougere fragrances I’ve sniffed have been called Barbershop that have been as similar as an apple is to an orange, so how could it be misrepresented? I don’t know why, maybe because it’s better than a basic Barbershop and threw me a curveball. It’s much more unique. Honor has a sweet base that it part tobacco/part vanilla without ever going foodie or cloying, and a wonderful leathery heart that wafts up to meet you. There’s more scents in there that are making it great but I cannot accurately describe them, this scent is very complex. This soap smells differently in the jar from the first time you open it, to a few weeks afterwards, even with the lid closed. It gets better over time to me and is my favorite SC scent, with Endurance right behind it.

If you are picky about scents, I’d suggest the sampler pack first. I’m glad I blind-bought Honor though, it’s a great soap!

Soap Commander makes great soaps. Really like their take on barbershop scent here. Great smell. Easy to lather. Slick lather, as well. Definitely a 5 star soap!

I can’t review any product without first mentioning the great folks at Maggard Razors. If a company with a plethora of products, great costumer service, and super-fast shipping appeals to you, look no further than Maggard. I’m so impressed. Regarding Soap Commander – wow! I’ve used their aftershave balm and it is super, but the shaving soap, in barbershop, is in a class by itself. It loads easily, lathers easily and shaves incredibly. You gotta get some of this stuff. The folks at SC are wonderful people who provide a quality product at a reasonable price. I love the scent and the post-shave. I will definitely buy again.

Just brilliant. Performance is stellar, and the scent, for me, is the best version of barbershop I’ve ever tried. Really impressed.

Most of what’s in my den is “barbershop” a scent. This one is different. To my nose the honey and tobacco come off a bit vanilla-ish and kind of sweet/floral but in a good way. Did a face and head shave with it right after I got it. First soap from the Commander and the cushion, slickness and glide are on point. My new everyday “use for work’ shave.

Rapidly becoming one of my favorite scents.

Soap performs the same as all other soap commander products – excellently. Quickly forms a nice slick protective lather which lasts and lasts.

Scent is a nice barbershop scent, with just a touch of sweetness which makes it so appealing to me. I keep getting drawn back to Honor, my other soaps will get jealous.

One final note: these tubs are 6oz portions, most other artisans distribute in 4oz tubs. And the packaging for Soap Commander is stellar – solidly built wide 8oz tubs are easy to load in, excellent waterproof labels etc.
