Performance is acceptable for a non-tallow soap, but if you need lots of cushion, look elsewhere.
Slickness is good, and lather creation rapid, and the SS base gives a resilient lather that stays hydrated and workable during a long shave. No problem there, and the post shave feel is pretty good.
The issue - as seems to happen with many vegan soaps and my senstive face - is that the lather does not give exceptional protection for the more easily burned parts of my face, and my chin and below the nose were sore for hours after the shave. The rest of my face was fine, and the whole thing was adequately hydrated, but the only way I could avoid scraping the delicate areas was by doing only one pass over them.
Top tier soaps - mainly tallow but including vegan stuff like Dr Jons and Wholly Kaw - do not need these kid gloves and can handle a full three pass shave without leaving any sections irritated. If your face is not easily burned, you may get by with this brand, but for me, i will avoid future purchases.
The scent, as is hinted at in the description, is mild, pleasant, and quite forgettable. I assume the sandalwood in here is one of the less expensive cultivars thereof, as it is very bland and readily overpowered by the myrrh. I was not too disappointed here as all the online info on SS indicates their scents are very mild, so I knew I was not getting any sort of powerhouse. Still, a great smell combined with somewhat above average performance is better than that same performance with a weak, dull smell...
TLDR: Another entry in the Artisan of the Week sweepstakes. A theoretically interesting non-tallow base that does not quite perform as well as many other brands, both vegan and tallow. Uninteresting and under-powered scent, and a middle of the pack price point do nothing to make Sudsy stand out.
