I thought this coconut soap might be too sweet, so I hesitated to buy it. But I took a chance, and now very glad to have it. It’s not too sweet, and smells perfect to my nose.

I have two coconut soaps — this Turtleship, and also Wholly Kaw’s Noce di Cocco. The scent is similar for both, but I prefer the Turtleship. It has a slightly stronger scent, and more of a pure coconut vibe (sweetened just enough to accentuate the coconut, but not enough to smell like some coconut dessert).

Comparing the lather — the Wholly Kaw may be slightly better (tough to call), and they are both top tier for lathering in my opinion. If I could have only one, I would be happy with either. But if I had to choose, I would choose the Turtleship, based on scent and the outstanding packaging — the see-through lid and the artwork just looks great.

I’m still fairly new to wetshaving, but I think I have a found a gem. I came across Turtleship on Instagram when I saw their brushes. I picked up the Anchor Clearwater (glow) synthetic brush and decided to throw in a soap for good measure. Oh. My. This soap is fantastic. It has more of a toasted coconut, more akin to coconut baked goods than a straight up raw coconut scent. And it is fantastic. I wouldn’t be exaggerating much if I said I open up the tub on stressful days to just give it a sniff. It performs incredible too, absolutely slick stuff and the scent is just as good lathered up as it is in the tub. Post-shave feel is unreal and a quick glance at the ingredients shows you why. This stuff is loaded with all sorts of dermatological wonders that will ensure your face is smooth and silky (disclaimer: am not dermatologist)

ALSO. Their presentation is pretty slick! Besides a great looking brush and clean looking graphics on the soap, my shipment came with a Turtleship Shave Co. sticker, a canvas bag (complete with logo) filled with their 4 other scents: Pine, Te Java, Lime, and Bay Rum and finally a handwritten note. It’s the small things like that are just icing on the cake to products that perform well.
