Product Description

A collaboration with Zingari Man and Barrister and Mann have brought to you a first:

Nocturne returns and in a vegan base!

A lot of autumn scents revolve heavily around spices. It’s an iconically mulled season. But it’s also a season of harvest, perhaps most famously for apples. And while the cool air of autumn pairs so well with apple cider and pie, there’s something special about the smell of a fresh apple when the leaves are falling off their trees and campfires are being lit for evening comfort. This fragrance embodies an autumnal freshness. Not just the spices and customs we bring to autumn, but also the delights that autumn brings to us.

DIRECTIONS: For the best wet-shave we recommend using during or after a hot shower. Wet your shaving brush and whisk it over the soap. Lather on your mug and shave with the grain. Re-lather and shave against the grain for a baby butt shave. Rinse with cold water.

I absolutely loved the complex scent. Even better was the typically great a Zingari performance and post-shave.

I agree with Ran Hudnik. While I am sure the smell is not for everyone, it is not nearly as bad as the reviews would suggest.
Also, seeing that scent preferences are so subjective I am not sure how a review could state that the performance of the product is so wonderful and then give 1 star. That seems to contradict itself quite a bit. I typically don’t use my thoughts on the scent to give star ratings I only base my rating upon performance. I will note in my reviews my thoughts on the scent. In this case it is not the same as the original Nocturne, but I still really like it. I pretty much only smell apples and wet earth, I don’t get much smoke from the jar I have. I hope this helps. Maybe the odd reviews will mean more Nocturne for me! Cheers!

    This soap is amazing!
i am not sure what folks are talking about- yes, the woodsmoke is very upfront, but apples are clearly there, and noticale right away. i loved it,
the smell is like a roasted meat, with thick apple sauce and falling leaves- nostalgic and great.

i think its unique and yet a must on any shelf.

I have to agree with the other reviews about the scent–off the puck it promises to be mostly apples, but as soon as it is on your face it is just smoke. That’s too bad–I would hate for this product to die out. The original scent was a wonderful aroma of apples, and there aren’t enough soap aromas based on apples.
So far as the vegan soap base, it is a winner–it performs as well as the best Barrister and Mann has on offer. I like it very much. But Barrister and Mann (and Zingari), please restore the original scent–it is too good to let go!

A fantastic soap and perhaps the worst scent I’ve ever tasted in a shaving soap, it smells like sour apples buried in a fire that was put out a month ago
