Didn’t work in my conditions. I’ve never experienced brush burn until I used this brush, it takes twice as long to load and twice as long to face lather. Could be my hard water but I have yet to find the magic in synthetics.

This is a damn fine brush. The OMEGA ‘S” brush series of synthetics all have identical fiber but the handles vary and for the money, the wooden handle feels nicest in the hand over the plastics (perfectly functional, but not as nice as wood for in hand feel). Toss in some KELLS 4oz soap and a maggard brush and you have a cheap kit to get started into awesome wetshaving. Just join a community like RealMenShave on facebook and subscribe for the maggard’s newsletter as they offer some great deals if you dont follow the ones posted on RMS.

This is my first synthetic brush, as well as my first Omega, and I liked it so much that I bought two more for friends that I’m getting into wet-shaving. The bristles are very soft, yet the knot has ample backbone for building a good lather, and the wood handle keeps it from feeling cheap. I’m sure this won’t be my last Omega brush.

The Omega S10005 S-Brush Synthetic Boar / Beech Handle is a great choice for the money. The brush has an authentic “boar bristle” feel and stiffness (which I like). I use mine with Speick shaving soap or cream and it produces an outstanding thick creamy lather. I am a shower shaver and the beech handle works well in a wet environment so far. The brush holds water and lather well: for a second pass, there is plenty held in the brush after the initial lather up. Not too big and not too small, everything about this brush seems “just right” for me!

For the price this brush is exceptional. It is handily outperforming my AoS Pure Badger brush (for a fraction of the cost I might add). It’s soft, but has sufficient backbone for face lathering, it also has no trouble loading up easily on my puck of DR Harris soap.

It has excellent weight to it, and for the price that handle really is nice. I have noticed it has required a little bit of breaking in and can take some more muscle to get a good lather at first, at least with DR Harris soap. For ten bucks though, that is hardly a problem. It has easily become my everyday brush. If you’re just starting out this brush is awesome!

Excellent brush for your money! Will approach for anyone. Not big and not small. I took to travel, but now use it every day.
